What ya eating tonight?

An ounce of chopped up turkey with a very little bit of light mayo. I'm just over three weeks post-op and still have three weeks before I get veggies. And no starchy carbs until after the six month mark.

I'm thinking about trying tuna for the first time. If I do I'll blenderize it with chicken stock so that the tuna is pasty. I haven't tried a side since I use applesauce to take meds.

Quinoa grecian salad - quinoa cooked in chicken stock - let it cool, diced up Tomato, cucumbers , onion and some feta cheese can also add olives. Dressing red wine vinegar and fresh lemon juice, salt and pepper. Had that last night and ill be having it again today as it makes a fair bit, my tummy likes it and the quinoa helps me keep regular!. Ill be buying a rotisserie chicken at lunch later today and mix a bit of that in my salad just to mix it up ????. This salad/meal is quite versatile.

1/2 of an Adkins Beef & broccoli frozen meal. I'm new to dense food and not very brave yet! The beef & broccoli were both soft and easy to chew. My doctor & nut told me I had to up my salt intake so I figured a frozen meal would do the trick.

Surgery was April 8. Just now stepping into the unknown with soft foods. Tolerating everything well, but can definitely feel when I am full. For the moment, until I can get all my Protein from food, I have a Protein Shake (30gms protein) in the morning and another in the evening so I am meeting the 60gms minimum. Have been able to eat yogurt, homemade egg salad, SF Jello puddings, potted meat (12gms protein!) and apple sauce. Down 18 since the surgery and finally feeling like a human again. Can't wait to try some of these amazing recipes posted on this forum!

Turkey meatballs with homemade Tomato sauce

. I made these in my crockpot. Then froze them to take to work for lunch. I also found some tiny ravioli. About half Inch square. I figure I could made 4 or 5 of those to eat with the turkey balls. I miss Pasta and pizza more than anything.

Also if you put provolone cheese in the oven till it melts and the edges turn brown. It taste like bacon and great on sandwiches.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
