What ya eating tonight?

Recommended Posts

My basic recipe is one cup cooked, chopped, and well-drained cauliflower mixed with one cup low fat cheddar cheese and one egg, salt, pepper, garlic powder and oregano. Spread really thinly on a sprayed sheet tray and bake at 400 for 20-25 minutes. Let cool. Cut into crackers and crisp under broiler or in toaster oven. So much healthier than tortillas.

Thank, this sounds very adaptable to many uses. You got me thinking :)

Bowl of very spicy chili! Perfect on a freezing day.

Spicy chili for me tonite! I whipped up a batch this afternoon - it's Hubby's favorite. :-)

And what's up with this crazy weather? Single digits all last week, 42 yesterday, teens today, supposed to be forties tomorrow, then back to frigid weather for the rest of the week! :-p. On the plus side, January is almost over - on to short February! :-)

I completely agree this is the weirdest weather I've seen in a long time. I heard that ugly four letter word (snow) on Tuesday too. Can wait for beach weather!!

Bacon and an egg. I think I over did it on the bacon and will likely now stay away from that stuff for a couple months. Blah.

I hear a lot of chili on here. Forgive me, I know this will sound horrible to a lot of people lol, but I've never had chili before!!! "Gasps" !!!!

I see so many people having that, many I should try making that? Any suggestions for a beginner? Lol :-D

Had my chili for two days and will have again today! Is full of Protein and sits so good in the belly! ;) We had 5 inches of snow yesterday and right now it is -12 with a wind chill of -28! Freezes the nostrils in a second! ;) They closed a ton of area schools already yesterday for today AND tomorrow!

I attempted chicken tonite - BIG MISTAKE!! I'm gurgling, burping, and feeling that dreaded pain in the middle of my chest. I trying to keep it down but I'm losing the battle... :-(

I lost the chicken. Anyone know if I'll ever be able to eat chicken again? I'm eight months out.

You will be able to eat chicken again. I'm seven months out and I'm just now able to tolerate it. In fact with any kind of meat with the exception of fish and shrimp (I can always eat) it's hit and miss. One time I can eat chicken, beef or pork and the next time it's a no go.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
