countrygirl 84 Posted October 17, 2013 Doctors should tell people that about strictures. I was not aware that dehydration was one of the main causes. Thank you for sharing. I work outdoors all yr long so after being off after surgery for seven weeks , I returned &on day five dehydration set in quick two hrs & no Water is all it took. My esophageaous started closing where it intersects w/small intestine but amost everything comes back up due to my forgetting to sip, sip, sip &keep water handy lesson learned.now I'm on surgery list for 25th to dilate enough for food passage. Gotta get Protein by shakes til then.
bb00024 21 Posted October 17, 2013 How far along are you? When can we eat chef-boyar-dee? He is my favorite chef. I am not sure if I am "suppose" to eat ravioli's. In fact I know that I am not, because of the noodle portion. In fact today was the first time to eat this. I am almost 5-weeks post op and I have had Zero complications. So, I take all of those things into consideration. I get 70-oz of Water each day and also drink Protein Shakes without issue. However, I mush them with a fork and they give me Protein. It is quick and easy as well. 1 mommashari reacted to this

I've have this problem with left over roasts, too. I chop them up and make them into chili. Especially pork roast. Works out great! And no waste. I will freeze the chili in small portions as well. Just an idea for you.

I'd thought about repurposing it into a chili or curry, but have felt so uninspired to cook the past few days I thought it would be fine to just eat as it one more time. Nope. And it likes to reinforce the lesson so you don't forget. :-)

They don't know why some patients get strictures and others don't. I asked my doctors about strictures before surgery.
