What ya eating tonight?

I used some of my leftover "Mac" and cheese, mixed with chopped up ham for a delicious Protein packed lunch. I still can't get over how darn good that stuff is! I don't miss the Pasta at all!

Ramen noodles are really not good for you. Look at the nutrition count and remember the package is two servings not one like most people think. It is super high in sodium and fat.

A couple pieces of grilled sirloin tips and steamed broccoli. I was Leary of the steak but no problems.

I find it strange that tuna, chicken, and lately even tilapia will back up on me, yet steak is fine. Weird...

I have NO IDEA! :-) I was chewing a piece of steak and without even thinking I swallowed before it was chewed really well. As soon as I swallowed and realized what I had done my heart practically stopped and I thought 'this is NOT going to be good'! I resigned myself to an evening of pain and nausea and waited... and waited... and waited... and nothing!

I dodged a bullet! Even so, I won't do that again! :-)

Just had the BEST applewood smoked pork loin for Breakfast at Hamilton orchard in new Salem, ma. Tried to go apple picking but they're not letting people into the field. Totally worth the trip tho for the pork. Yum.

So I made some baked tilapia that looked and smelled so good. Thought id give it one more try. I am now, 10 minutes later, sitting here with the big time foamies! Im gonna try to keep it in but foamies usually mean only one thing for me! UGH, WHY?????

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
