I just walked into my mothers house and it smells like a Thai restaurant. Her bf has been home all day making Thai food. Shrimp with peanut sauce, green Beans and sweet potato. Yum!!

I had to go to Wallyworld after work to get a few things. I ate the cheese and turkey out of a Lunchable, then tossed the crackers into the parking lot for the seagulls. :-)

My son fixed fried gizzards and livers i ate 5 gizzards and 4 livers. With 2 spoonfuls of boiled cabbage

I love liver. Haven't had it in years tho. I like them with onions & gravy over rice. Smh baby says that we must now have that immediately!

I made chicken stuffed cabbage with sauce and sauerkraut on top. One of my FAVORITE meals!! Unfortunately, my pouch didn't agree and I got to see my cabbage roll one last time before flushing it out to sea... :(

Stuffed cabbage rolls are a tradition in my family. I also use only ground chicken. I cooked some a month ago and it was the one dish that my pouch loved. It was a happy week for me.

Hope your pouch learns to re-love stuffed cabbage rolls again.

P.S: I did not use Sauerkraut at all. I made the rolls out of sweet cabbage.

My husband made some sloppy Joes with ground chicken. I had one only, mini bun including. Got some discomfort (like with any solid food) but I made sure to rest for 45 min like I always do. All was good afterwards and even went for a 2 hr walk.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
