Did you use chicken breast?

Yes. I bought the Tyson chicken breast but I like Perdue better. Leaner and less fat on the edges.

Crockpot BBQ pulled chicken. Added red onion rings for extra sweetness. Didn't eat much but my taste buds were humping each other.

What kind of sauce did you use? I'm thinking of making pulled pork in the crockpot with a tenderloin but I'm finding that most sauces have a lot of sugar.

Just tried a turkey burger from 99. No bun just turkey, cheese and lettuce. Did not go well. I had four bites and it didn't get stuck but it was very rough going down. I'm getting discouraged. I want to be able to just sit down and enjoy a meal without any issues or even having to think about it. Not possible right now I guess. : (

I had Cheesecake Factory's Asian chicken lettuce wraps--- holy! Yum! SO good' date=' but I only ate about 2/3. The best part? Our Cheesecake Factory bill only being like 50... I guess that's what happens when you don't get appetizers, alcoholic drinks, or dessert! Yay for the double whammy of awesomeness![/quote']

Those are my favorite thing from The Cheesecake Factory!! Yum!!!

I don't do well with any ground meats unless there is a ton of some kind of sauce. It's just too dry.

I made pulled pork yesterday. Made it in crockpot with diet root beer and Kraft light BBQ Sauce. It had the least amount of sugar. Cooked for about 8 hours in the root beer, 12 ounces for every 2lbs of meat, then after its soft, drain the root beer, then shred the meat. Added one bottle of Kraft light BBQ sauce and about 1/2 cup Water and cooked for additional hour on low. Loved it! Hubby loved it too!

Unfortunately not for awhile. I'm 5 1/2 months out and I still have to go through that. You just find certain food items that go well and stick to those places and those meals. For instance, the Mexican gumbo at Qdoba sits awesomely well for me, so we've been going there a lot more lately. Once you find what works for you, just stick with that.

It will come! Be patient. I am over 3 months and still have issues at times. When that happens I just go back to the easy stuff like cottage cheese and yogurt.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
