I've had steak and it sits great with me. My nut doesn't recommend it until I'm 3-4 months out (I'm only 2). Ground hamburger sits heavy but not steak. I think I pay more attention to chewing when I eat it cause I know if it got stuck it would be hell.

Steak is also a better cut of meat so it's more tender and easier to break down than hamburg. I'm 5 1/2 months and I still have an issue with ground hamburg.

Was out all day...had a subway salad but stopped by social security building and security there is so strict, no food or drink nd she made me throw my salad away :-( sat in there for 4 hours and was starving when i left..made a horrible choice, ate about 1/3 slice of greasy pizza and proceeded to up chuck on the sidewalk while a man in a car drove by and yelled "you drunk b****" So that combined with pregnancy hormones made me cry :-(

Went to a clam bake. Trued to eat a clam but after chewing and chewing an chewing with no success I spit it out and moved on to steamed blue crabs!! They were delicious ! It took me forever to eat because I had to break them open and pry out the meat so for the first time I threw out my 20min to eat rule. I picked through 2 crabs and had 2 bites of crab dip... Now I'm just worried... Did I eat too much' date=' did I eat too slow... Why can't I just enjoy my dinner? ??[/quote']

Lil,

You should be fine. There is only like a tablespoon or two of meat per crab. Just watch what you do it in. Even early in I really enjoyed crab from Joe's crab shack. Could split a stream pot and still have some left over. But it went down really well.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
