What ya eating tonight?

Recommended Posts

I found a diabetic yogurt at Walmart. 4oz cups they had 1.5g fat 45 cal 2g sugar and 3g carbs... I am in bed w/ a Migraine and nauseau so I will post a pic of it tomorrow. They had vanilla and strawberry. I will admit its not sweet at all(which I like) but I would think if you wanted it sweeter you could always add a sugar substitute to it!

We went to Cracker Barrel and I had the spicy grilled catfish. It was awesome. Also fit in a few bites of green Beans. I will definitely order that again.

1oz of leftover pork tenderloin that promptly got stuck. My fault for eating to quick. Had a shake afterwards. Didnt feel like eating anymore of the pork. It turned me off.

Had a disastrous fiasco with a chicken tender & BBQ Sauce. Think the sauce made me dump. So a few hours later I ate the inside of a chicken pot pie and that sat well.

Does anyone still wait 30 minutes after eating before drinking something? I know we did it in the beginning, but its a little tougher to do when you are eating more. I try to time my meals so I won't drink too soon.

I am supposed to wait an hour and I was told that's a permanent rule.

I'm supposed to wait an hour. But he is fine with 45 mins since I'm so parched during summer time. This is a life time thing.

30 minutes before and 30-45 after for me. I'm slowly getting used to it. I actually find that if I don't wait long enough the combo of liquids and solids in my pouch aches a bit. Helps me to remember.

Only rule I was given was not to drink during or for twenty minutes after. Sometimes I need a sip so my mouth isn't like a desert tho.

I'm about 30min. I may take the slightest of sips to clear my mouth but I'm afraid of drinking much before 30min

I'm really trying to follow the no drinking rule but its sooo hard. Sometimes I forget but when I do remember it almost seems worse waiting for the clock. Any tips?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
