I wish I liked cottage cheese :(

Ugh me too. I've tried and I just can't find a way that I think it tastes good.

Omg that is totally me!! I had 2 ounces of roast for an early dinner. I just ate 1.5 ounces and threw it up and have hiccups and nausea. Horrible!!

How do you get it up? Tonight I overcooked my tilapia and foolishly ate some anyway. Then comes the pain and nausea! I burp and gag but nothing comes up but gobs of bubbly saliva. If I could only throw it up I'm sure I'll feel better. Even sticking my fingers down my throat won't do it. Suffering through it... :-(

There is only one brand of cottage cheese I really enjoy and it's from a local dairy. But I can eat others with a sprinkling of salad Supreme. Extra good if you are allowed Ritz crackers. I put a spoonful of cottage cheese on the cracker and sprinkle with the seasoning. Delicious! I also eat my cottage cheese with the little cups of peaches or pears with no sugar added. It's my favorite Breakfast post surgery. Just some ideas.

I've tried with the fruit and it just didn't do it for me. I don't know if its the texture or what. Weird because I love both yogurt and cheese!

Might sound weird, but I have always loved cottage cheese sprinkled heavily with pepper! Try it!

That's how my ex ate it. Never tried it that way. Have only done fruit. And I would say its tolerable to me at best.

I was in pain for about an hour beforehand and then it just came up. I had hiccups for about an hour afterwards.

Omg!!! We're twins. I just got cod at the black sheep tavern in Cambridge and it was a little over cooked. Dug into it anyways faster then lightning an the combination of the dry fish and eating to fast made me toss my Cookies for the first time. Twice actually. I finally got it up and feel so much better. Still feeling a little funny but other then that I'm good. Also this is in no way a bad review of the black sheep tavern for those living/visiting Boston. They are very good. My friends filet mignon was to die for. At least that's what she said. I didn't have any.

I'm pouting. Made some bad choices today and had a mini-episode of dumping for the first time. :( So I had potato Soup for dinner, and it also made me nauseous and made my heart race. I'm better now, but boy do you learn quickly. Back to Popsicles for me...

Still not coming up. Guess I'm not a puker. For the first time in my life that seems like a bad thing. I'd better be more careful.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
