What ya eating tonight?

Recommended Posts

Currently eating the first veggie burger of my life. It's actually pretty good! Wish I knew what brand it is so I could buy some for myself. My work is having a 4th cookout and I didn't want to get sick on one of the greasy premade burgers' date=' and it's nice to have an option other than a plain hot dog.[/quote']

Gardenburgers are my favorite. They have the best flavor and you can actually see the veggies. I ate them even before my surgery. They're in the frozen food section. Boca burgers are just ok. Definitely not my favorite.

Faux potato soup' date=' I found a recipe on Pinterest that is actually cauliflower, cheese, turkey bacon, green onion and onion, garlic and I mixed some Greek yogurt in for some extra protein.[/quote']

This sounds yummy. I might have to make it.

Lean pockets meatball & mozzerella. I eat all the filling and 1/4 of the crust. Maybe a piece of turkey kilbasa later. Idk if it's the baby or not but I'm really hungry these past few days.

Is it a trend? I bought a lobster tail and am grilling it. I am grilling zucchini too. Lobster tail is small and I plan to eat 3 ounces.

A few bite of Cajun tilapia, steamed veggies, and a bite of roasted potatoes. It was the Cajun tilapia meal at Applebee's. It was yummy!

Does anyone have any good puréed meal ideas?

Tonight I had refried Beans mixed with salsa and it was AMAZING!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
