We went to a Mexican restaurant for lunch. I got a grilled tilapia burrito minus the burrito part. Basically I got grilled tilapia w/black Beans and salsa. I ate a little for lunch, a little for dinner, and tossed out the rest. I feels decadent to throw out food but I'm doing it a lot now. The clean-plate club has lost a member... :-)

2.5 ounces roasted chicken. 0.5 ounce of roasted potato.

I am DYING for roasted chicken. Every time I go to the grocery store that's all I smell from the rotisseries. But for someone who's single, it's not worth making just for myself. Maybe I can talk my mom into making it this week.

It is just my husband and me so I bought a small chicken and roasted it with some potatoes and onions. The leftover I pulled and made chicken salad. Good for his lunch tomorrow and mine. It was very yummy and hit the spot. I was surprised how full I got on 2.5 ounces. Amazing!!

That's what I was going to suggest! Eat what you can no then make chicken salad or chicken tacos out of the rest of the chicken.

Anyone else have a hard time eating Protein separately? It's fine if you have a separate protein, but a lot of time my recipes require a blending of flavors ala lobster club salad I had last night. It's meant to be eaten together! I still do it 'cause it's hard to take small bites if you have a lot of ingredients to put together, but I sometimes miss taking bites of lots of flavors that marry together at the same time. I really missed big bites last night!

Since I dont cook this nearly as AWESOME as your food sounds, I dont have this problem! ;) I just usually make and eat only the protein, and maybe a few bites of a side dish. I dont even like lobster and you made it sound so good.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
