What ya eating tonight?

I had scallops the other night. Pre surgery I would throw a mountain of ritz crackers soaked in butter on top of them. The other night I had them pan seared with salt pepper and a little lemon. They were 100% better then the pre surgery ones. I could actually taste them. Sweet' date=' salty, sour. Yum. I might have to get some for tomorrow.[/quote']

I grilled mine with a little salt and pepper and squirted lemon at the end. They were wonderful. We have access to wonderful fresh seafood here in Florida and I'm grateful I love seafood because it is low fat, high Protein and very satisfying! :)

Same here. I'm on cape cod. My friend "fished" the scallops the morning I had them for dinner. Can't get much fresher. I think I could live off seafood and fish. Yummy.

I actually haven't but I might be with you on having it this weekend. Maybe I'll make loster salad minus the celery. Thank god seafood/fish is included on my soft foods diet. I think I would have gone crazy if I couldn't have it until the beginning of August.

Yep I am so glad it is on mine too because I can't stand Protein Shakes. I am trying to get my Protein from food. It is really hard to get to 60-65 grams but I am trying. Greek yogurt at 15 grams is my bff except I can't quite finish them.

Veggie burger--black bean, red salsa, and a side of spinach. It was good. I'm blessed that my pouch has accepted everything I've tried so far. I still don't feel full at all after 3 weeks post op, so I'm measuring to avoid overeating.

I've become a fan of creamy pumpkin Soup, I get it from Woolworths, 300ml tub. Some days I struggle to have it all, just recently, I've been almost tempted to have more, but I don't. If I'm eating solid food, might manage almost a cup of food, including salad, but mostly, six months out, five strictures in the early days, I like porridge in the morning, about a half a cup, lunch is my soup, sometimes some crackers with cheese, and dinner can be a mix but usually chicken or seafood. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me the sizes of their meals? I'm worried I may be stretching the pouch?

I'm worried about the same thing. I started a thread yesterday "Amount of Food"

Is it weird that nothing has affected me yet? I've had alot of foods that bother other people including chicken and haven't gotten anything stuck or tossed a cookie yet. Also I've only felt full a few times. I'm not complaining in anyway but is this happening to anyone else? I'm a little over three weeks out and on soft foods.

I haven't gotten sick or had any issues either. I do measure everything and take chew really well taking my time to eat my planned meals. I even had 1/4 cup of blueberries today with some cottage cheese. It is easier for me to eat now than it was with my band.

No, just consider yourself lucky! You'll find something eventually that will bother you, I'm sure.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
