Meatloaf and mashed potatoes with gravy. I'm 3 weeks out and can't tell when I'm full yet. Is this normal? Nothing has made me throw up yet, and I eat just a bit very slowly.

I'm 4 weeks out and I don't get hungry nor do I know if I'm close to full. I have been too full twice!! Awful!! Hurts bad. So now I measure 1-2 oz and that is all. I also notice that the denser the food the less I can eat. If you are eating and you think you should not take another bite. Don't I think it's some kind of internal warning.

I agree. I measure everything. I am on mushy food so I keep it between 2-3 ounces on anything as thick as greek yogurt. If it is a Protein Shake I go up to 8 ounces but that is thinned out. I am always super full after Protein Shakes. The 2-3 ounces of yogurt or cottage cheese etc always fills me up too. I try and have something, even if it is 4 ounces of skim milk at least every 3 hours. My calories are super low but my Protein has been between 55-60 grams. I'd like to up that by 10-15 grams in the next day or so.

Yes me too!! I can eat a whole yogurt in about 40 min though 1/2 cup Soups and the rest is 1-2 oz. I'm not getting very many calories but I'm getting anywhere from 60-79 grams of protein a day. I need to up that about 10 more grams too.

I am on the pureaded food stage and was looking at yogurt last night at the store. Everything flavored had over 20 grams of sugar, does anyone have dumping problems with this sugar level?

I get the plain greek yogurt and mix in a tablespoon of sugar free applesauce and some in cinnamon. It is yummy. I bought some sugar free strawberry jam to do the same thing but haven't tried that yet. You could even mash up a little banana and mix it in. That would be delish. A lot less sugar plus all the Protein and benefits of plain greek yogurt.

I use the dannon light and fit. The sugar is lower, and I've never had a problem. I can't eat a whole one anyway, so the sugar is even lower than what it says.

I bought the Yoplait Greek 100 calorie I think. It has like 9g of sugar if I remember correctly.

I also bought the Yoplait Greek. Mine was banana cream pie, it was very tasty and didn't have a ton of sugar like most

I made a whole wheat Hawiian pizza using a whole wheat pita pocket and ate half. 210 calories for half so I won't be eating this too often. It was yummy tho!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
