I made crockpot BBQ ribs. they were so good, had a tablespoon of potatoe salad and 3 tablespoons of baked Beans. the ribs were country style no bones, and they were so tender, only ate 2 small pieces.

also made an angel food cake that I only put crushed pineapple in its own juice. didnt like it.;

got both recipies from pinterest.

Hey, did you use reduced sugar BBQ Sauce? Do you have issues with sugar? I haven't even tried it.

Stupid question here. With the tiny amount we eat, is buying sugar free ketchup, BBQ Sauce, and other Condiments necessary? Or is the regular stuff ok?

Dorian - personally I think it depends on your pouch and tastes. I have found that stuff with regular sugar and not reduced is waaaaayyyy to sweet for me. I used to eat Cheerios with a heap of sugar added to it- today I had a bowl with no sugar added and it was to sweet for me to eat. Same with regular ketchup.

Actually i dont worry about sugar free anymore even tho i am a diabetic. Being sugar free is not always good. It is replaced with other chemicals. I just do stuff in moderation and yes its all about taste and texture. And if the pouch rejects it

Omg I totally agree with you. I wouldn't have anything sugar free before because its so bad with all the chemicals. Now I'm completely dependent on sugar free so I am often eating Popsicles or Jello or drinks with aspartame or sucralose. I am sure that cannot be good for my health. Of course neither is being obese. I feel so conflicted!

You do what's right for you, I don't touch. the stuff and never will...ps sucralose is not the bad one Aspartame and Asculefame are poison. Why would you go through this type surgery and then eat poison? Did you know that there are 92 side effects of Aspartame one is death?

Are you conflicted about that? Sorry I'm sure i will either piss you off or someone else that reads it. I am politically direct not politically correct.. I just don't understand

My question is similar....a regular Popsicle has 7 carbs. That doesn't seem too high. Can I have a regular Popsicle? I hate the taste of the sugar free stuff!

Depends on what your carb count is. I'm not allowed over seven, some are 10 and some are even lower. What does your Nut say?

Carb counts are also deceptive. Are they straight sugar or corn Syrup? Because milk or fruit sugars often process differently for people. Sugar or corn syrup make me dump. Fruit and milk don't.

Plus your regular popsicle is empty calories. No nutrition, where milk and fruit add Vitamins and minerals to your body.

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
