jerz 251 Posted April 14, 2013 Idk. A little confused. Nutritionist says I need to be at 2100 cal a day to maintain a pregnancy. I think she's wrong and maybe the number should be 1200. Anyway I had 1/2 honey turkey sandwich and diced peaches. HW:358 DOS:338 CW:288 SD:1/28/

HW:358 DOS:338 CW:288 SD:1/28/13 1200 doesn't really seem high enough....2100-2500 is about average for a normal/non-RNY Patient to have a healthy weight gain during pregnancy. I would imagine you're AT LEAST 1500-1800 and will still lose weight, but if the pros say 2100.....I don't think I'd focus so much on quantity as quality though.....make sure you're getting your Protein and dairy and fresh fruits and veggies....yup, sounds like you're going to be eating all day long!!!! pookybear 284 Posted April 14, 2013 A second opinion might not be a bad idea. I know you don't want to go too high and jeopardize the weight loss, but right now you have to make sure the little one is well fed there will be plenty of time after he/she is born to lose more weight. celebrate*me 52 Posted April 14, 2013 I agree but most women over eat when pregnant we don't need that much more calories I was told only 200-300 extra calories a day. That's it, my doctor compared the extra calories needed as the equivalent of a snickers bar.
