What ya eating tonight?

Recommended Posts

I too have experienced this, this is called "wrenching" I get it every time I eat chicken. Except moist dark meat. As for dumping syndrome it's good to learn your limits but better to not reach it. Elevated heartbeat, cold sweats, shaking and in my case moments of outer body experience's where I have no physical control over my body.... In other words it sucks! Much love, wish you the best!

judging.

Grilled marinated chicken w a teaspoon of Mac and cheese. So so yummy. I could live off this chicken.

My honey smokes/grills it on charcoal w hickory chips. Amazing. Leave the skin on and grill it mostly w the skin side down. It retains all the juices. Then just discard the burnt skin.

judging.

There seems to be only one person judging here.... The symptoms described did not fit. If you tell me you stubbed your toe I'm not going to give you a cough drop...

Lisa needs to write a Bariatric Cook Book of Meals they all sound so good

My husband keeps telling me the same thing. I just really, really love to cook. And if I can only eat a few bites of something it had better taste delicious!

My husband and I have had the same conversation. Just because I am eating differently doesn't change my love of cooking. I'll just have to work harder to make the recipes fit my new life and enjoy the few bites I can. There are lots of wonderful foods that I haven't tried that may become my new favorites. I've made a choice and it's improved my life already in a week. Down to 10 units of insulin just once today and my sugar was 101 last. Yes,!this isn't going to always be easy but most things in life aren't and require effort on our part. At the same time I feel like I've been given a clean canvas and now it's up to me to create my new masterpiece. I plan on painting a Picasso!

1 ounce of chicken fajita meat....1/4th cup of fat free refried Beans and a 1/4th of an avocado. I love that I can eat so little and be perfectly ok with it. I wish I had done this years ago.

I needed something salty & crunchy, munchos (mostly corn biased) never give me a problem.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
