A recipe from egg face blog on the puréed food section for a pot roast. Omg! It was excellent. My family had it in-puréed and loved it. Also had a tablespoon of mashed potatoes. Yum yum yum!

Made Bacon Cheeseburger Lettuce Wraps

1lb ground turkey

5 pieces of bacon; chopped to bite size pieces

1/2 medium onion (or 1 small)

5 wedges Laughing Cow Queso Chipotle cheese Spread

1/2 Cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 Tbsp ketchup

1 Tbsp Mustard

1 Tbsp Dill Relish

1 Head of Lettuce ( I used iceberg but most any kind would do)

Saute onions and bacon together until bacon is almost crisp and onions are soft. Add ground turkey until brown. Mix in cheese wedges until melted. Add in ketchup, mustard and relish. Scoop onto a lettuce leaf. Top with shredded cheddar.

Simple 1-dish meal :) You can also mix it up to make it how you like.

Oh and depending on the size of your lettuce wrap, this makes enough for the family. I ate one, my husband had 2 and there are leftovers

Yum. You make me wish I had a doctor who allows pasta! Sounds delicious.

Lol truthfully I am 1 month out and have no idea what I can or can't have. I just stick to Protein Shakes and eggs. My plan doesn't tell me what to do after day 30.

Being whole wheat Pasta I don't think it's that bad especially as small of a portion I had.

I think whole wheat pasta is a great choice, I don't like it but I am going to force myself to do it over white pasta. Good job Hippie gal

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
