Ugh I tried half a breast fillet of tyson teriyaki chicken and now I'm in pain...feels like it's stuck. This is new to me. I must have ate too fast <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

Chicken breast can be dry and cause problems. Try legs and thighs from now on.

I only eat chicken breasts (legs and thighs taste too greasy for me). Try marinating it in Greek yogurt or buttermilk, and make sure you don't overcook it. One of the easiest ways is to sear each side over medium high heat in a skillet for 4-5 minutes (you'll know it's seared when it flips without sticking to the pan) and then finishing in the oven for 20 minutes at 375. It comes out juicy every time.

Not sure i don't like mayo. Took an hour to eat the 6 inch. The topping were sparingly. I only use the vinegar on my subways sandwiches. And it was wheat bread.< /p>

No way could I eat that bread. It takes me a half hour to eat a slice of toast with cream cheese on it. I'm 9 months out. People- you must must must stay away from that bread!

Part of what works for sustained weight loss is a low carb lifestyle.

was it dry? I had to put BBQ Sauce on mine for a little moisture...but everything iwent down fine...it amazes me how nothing bothers me...sometimes I wish something would happen

Eat a piece of sugar free candy and let me know what happens. That's the only thing that has gotten me horribly sick.

I've been dying for Subway however I just keep fighting it. I keep seeing all those carbs in the bread. However you could probably do a salad from there. But why not just make your own

It was my first subway and my last for a good while. I do have to agree with you on the bread. Even if it was wheat bread it wasn't 100% whole wheat.

I know it's hard not to get some sort of carbs in with meals. Does anyone know how many carbs we are actually suppose to have a day like a total? They preach about Protein and making sure we get no less then 60 grams a day but my Nut never said anything about carbs

Per my nutritionist....4 meals a day (three meals plus a snack) 200-250 calories per meal, 20 grams of protein per meal, 15-20 grams of carbs per meal.

So 800-1000 calories, 80 grams of protein (goal is at least 60), and 60-80 grams of carbohydrates.

Hope this helps!!!!!

Yes it does, my aunt swears i should only have 20 grams of carbs a day. No one can function on only 20 carbs a day

Even in the super low carb pre-op hell I am currently living in,I average 30 carbs a day from the shakes...and I'm pretty sure I'm dying because of it! 20 doesn't seem realistic to me...

I am not able to take in that many calories. I've tried three meals a day and a snack. I just can't get it in. Maybe that's why my weight lose is down to about 2 pounds a week.

I was doing pretty well getting at least 70 grams of Protein with 700-800 calories. Then I caught a cold and now I still get my protein but I'm struggling to get more than 700 calories. I just have no appetite and I get full so quickly. Plus I've been getting dizzy every single time I stand up. I think I need to call my surgeons office. This doesn't feel right.

I've been having dizzy spells also. I've also had moments when I felt like my heart rate was elevated. My nut said I needed to drink more Water.< /p>

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
