I had a club sandwich. Yes the real deal

3 slices of whole wheat toast

Lettuce, Tomato, pepper jack cheese, slice of ham a slice of turkey, 2 pieces of crisp bacon. Stack it up layer it twice with 1 slice of bread in between. Cut into 4ths, i only ate one corner of the 1/4. Brought the rest home for tomorrow.

The whole sandwich is 460 calories. I had no mayo put on it. It was so good

I know this doesn't technically count because its Breakfast & not dinner, but I had 1.5 eggs and a meatless sausage patty with a few ounces of Trop50 OJ. Felt like a real meal!! First "meal" I've eaten since surgery that wasn't just some chicken breast or yogurt, etc. it's the small victories :)

Wow, old hippie gal. My doc said nothing but Protein for the first 3 months! I cheat every now and then and have some vegetables, but no starches yet. I'm 5 weeks out.

I think that the club has alot of Protein in it, bacon, ham, turkey, cheese, NO mayo on whole wheat toast.

I didnt eat the whole thing no way I could have. i didnt eat all the bread just a triangle of it, mostly ate it like a lettuce wrap, I just really wanted the meats of it, have the other 3 pieces of the sandwich in the fridge for today. and possibly tomorrow if it doesnt get soggy

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
