Out of pocket costs?

Recommended Posts

So... Just wondering what some of you have paid or are about to pay out of pocket. Any ideas of the negotiated rate with your insurance company? I have 50% coverage for everything, so from what I have seen I could be out of pocket a lot of $$. I usually have a good negotiated rate from the other surgeries, so I am a little hopeful! But, how much is your health really worth? That is what I keep telling myself!

Our out of pocket costs are multiple office visit co-pays for all of our pre-op requirements and we have to pay for the nutrition class. Inpatient services (hospital services) are all covered 100% with a possible separate surgeon fee. Jury is still out on the separate surgeon fee. I've been curious about the contracted fees as well, but haven't come up with anything yet. The same insurance company may have different contracts/converage between different employers.

Wow. That's a lot. I'm covered at 95% after a $150 deductible. The surgery costs $15,500. So I'm looking at around $775

I paid an $80 co-payment for surgery. I pay all co-payments for surgeon and I'm putting in an appeal for the nutritionist not being covered.

I paid everything in cash upfront. Where I live, insurance doesn't cover this. I paid almost 10,000 $

Hey your surgery date is on my birthday! Congrats. My journey will begin on February 5th that's the day I go to my consultation... I know my insurance covers it because I'm a St. Lukes employee and I also don't have to wait the 6 month time... My concerns are mostly the fact that I haven't reached my deductible or out of pocket Max. So I'm wondering what I will have to pay up front and what they will take payments on... Just gets my nerve going... I dying for the 5th to get here I feel like that will be the date I will know my destiny... I want my life back
