Decaf coffee or herbal tea are they ok

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering too.

I've been reading on here and other resources that decaffeinated, tea or coffee, is ok, but it still might have some caffeine, so you need to add more Water. I've also read that the temperature can matter early on and that every doctor's advice here is different.

I had my first caffeine was about 2-3 months after surgery... I had about a 1/2 cup of ice tea, I have gradualy added caffeine but I don't drink that much of it. I am 9 months post op and can have a glass or two of diet ice tea or a cup of hot tea and have no problems. I would just a little at a time and see how you handle it. My suregon was NO CAFFEINE at first but I asked him at my 3 month post op and he said a little is fine.

Thanks I gave up the caffeine several months ago as I drank coffee about 2-3 times a day and now I have been doing one a week for a treat before surgery. I am also drinking CAFFEINE free tea and Decaf in my shakes, but wondering when we can have a Luke warm cup after surgery. I like room temp Water and stuff so hoping to do decaf flavored tea

I was allowed Decaf right after surgery. I couldn't handle the taste at that point. I have to admit I drink a cup of regular in the morning now. One vice...

Thanks that is what I thought. However, I have seen tons of GB drink caffeine. I don't drink much at all so I am not really worried about that..

I don't think its such a big deal once you're further out but the risk of ulcers in the beginning is high because you're still healing..same reason not to smoke...i have up both for the surgery...I've also dealt with ulcers before having surgery and they can be very painful

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
