Ooo. Either scares me. Crab cakes can be greasy (butter) ask how they are prepared. Also the romulade (sp?) can be mayo based so go light. The crab Soup is the same way. broth based should be a go but cream based, I wouldn't eat in a restaurant. Probably high fat. Get details of how they made. You be ok. :-)

I've eaten crab cakes a couple times, but only in my house where I was able to prepare them without a lot of grease and fat. Like worm suggested, you should ask your server. I used to work in the restaurant biz and any decent server will have no problems helping you find something or making special requests for how to prepare your food (after all- you're paying for it!) It is a little nerve-wracking, but just enjoy your company and evening and you'll be fine. Besides, it's not like you'll be eating a full portion!

Guys I was scared to eat it or anything else for that matter. I ordered the crab cake but I barely ate it.

But on a good note everyone said to me did I lose weight lol. I said a little I can't tell like that on myself but I guess with them I did... All smiles over here

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
