I just returned from lunch........ my stomach was knawing at me and ANOTHER Protein Shake was NOT going to cut it so I opted for very mushy tuna salad (mayo&brownspicymustard) Let me tell you ... about 1/4 of it was all that was needed before my band said STOP

Judy -- great pics! Pop Century is our fav hotel at the World! What fun!

Oink oink... I'm a little piggy today (funny how I say that & then compare it w/what I WOULD have eaten & it's really only a little! ha ha! but still, too much for a banded person!). Too many cashews! (Better than too many Cookies, I guess!)

Fondue for dinner... veggies & cheese... yum! TTFN!

Update - Now my daughter doesn't know if she wants to come home or not (I haven't even told her my stipulations yet!). So until she decides that yes she wants to come home, I'm not even going to discuss anything further with her. She's staying with some guy that I've never heard her mention before, which really bothers me, but she's 24 and I can't live her life for her.

I think I need a TINY fill, but I doubt the doc will do it. I'm leaving in 10 minutes for my check-up. I'll tell him about the stress level and my episode last night...see what he thinks.

I've been so busy at work today that I didn't even have time for lunch, so I ate a chocolate chip cookie that someone brought me. Sooo later I enter it into my Calorie Counter Database - Free Online Diet Program log and it tells me that this little damn cookie just cost me 370 calories and barely any protein!!! I think for dinner I'm going to do a Protein Shake and some steamed veggies....drink lots of Water today and call it good. lol

Hope everyone is having a great day!!!!:hungry:

Thanks Haydee!! I figured that with fall coming soon, I would get a fall hair color. Everyone seems to like it, so I'll keep it for a while

Did you get all moved into our new house?

Terri-Good luck with your unfill. You must be real close to your "sweet spot". I am kinda considering (have not decided yet) getting a little bit of a fill....I was just so miserable last time though. When it is my TOM I can't eat anything, only drink. I still PB every once in a while. I think I just talked myself out of it....no fill for me yet.

Kat-I am having sinus trouble too right now. Hope you feel better!!

Michelle-Congrats on the pound!!

Pamela....I am just waiting for our show to come on  I hope nobody wins the veto.

Everyone have a great evening...

Well, the doc agreed with you all...but it wasn't because I PB'd last night LOL

He said that I'm doing too well to give me a fill right now...I've lost 10 lbs since my last fill and he said he doesn't want me losing anymore than 1-2 lbs a week (I'm averaging 1.5-1.7 lbs per week). He said that with me doing so well, he's concerned that if he gives me a fill, it may push me over and I'd have to come back for an unfill. He said that sometimes after an unfill, it's hard to get you back to where you were before and because I'm doing well, he doesn't want me to lose my momentum.

Plus it saved me some $$ LOL

I was a little disappointed as I'd love to lose more. I don't see it the same as he does I guess...I had surgery 4 months ago, and I've lost 36 lbs from the surgery (12 lbs before the surgery)...I'd love to lose faster, but I'm happy. Hell I'm off all of my meds! I didn't put the weight on overnight, so I'm surely not going to take it off overnight. God I just feel really happy and I don't know why. LOL

Denise..you are doing an awesome job on the weight loss! We're all PROUD of you!! Just remember the story of the tortoise and the hare. Slow and steady wins the race.

Kat.. hope your headache is better.

TracyK.. love the new hair color!!

Pamela.. any "leaks" today??

Terry...hope you get the restriction issues straightened out! I'm glad we didn't get a fill just before our Alaksa cruise. I'm willing to wait til we get back just to avoid and problems with PB'ing. We'll just have to be very careful about what we eat. DH and I have vowed to use the gym onboard ship for the first time! We'll see how that goes!

TracyinKs.. you'll be in the teens in no time and wonder how you got there so fast! I remember how excited I was to get to Onederland and now I'm almost 25 pounds into it!!!

Well.. off to watch some tv for a bit. I've been running all day doing laundry, packing and going to a rehearsal this evening. I have to have everything done tomorrow cause we leave Thursday morning!

Everyone have a restful night. And remember .. Patience and Trust.... WWJD??!!

Terry, did I mention I LOVE my Bracelet? ??? Cause I DO!!!

Oh, I'm so glad, Judy! You're our official mascot!! You totally rock!!

Denise - uh, what did your doc mean by "sometimes it's hard to get you back where you were?" Oh crap!

TracyK - Did you have any problems after your unfill??

Haydee - HI! Yep, still on the Chantix but the dreams aren't so weird anymore...or either I'm just getting used to them! They are kinda fun and easily remembered....just bizarro!! I'm on Day 9! What color are you painting the walls?? I love to play with wall colors. My bedroom is kind of a strange color but everyone loves it ....it's like the color of coffee with creme in it. Very dark and romantic.

I'm hungry!!!

Hi Crew-

Well the headache....I am being referred once again to a new neurosurgeon---the one who has followed the tumor, is no longer here. My Dr. seems to think there may be some size change. Which may be causing pressure. My ear has ached some, and that is troublesome he said. I am not worried. I am scheduled for a new bone scan the first part of next month. They are not a big deal, should be much easier, I will fit on that skinny little table much easier!!! I had one woman who did not warn me when the machine was approaching my head, and she lowered it HARD on my head, I wrenched myself out of that damn thing sat straight up, and puked all over her pants and shoes! I am somewhat claustrophobic anyway. When they do the bone scans, I go in, and they inject me with the radioactive isotopes, then I leave, and drink 36+ ounces of Fluid, and then go back (wondering if that will be a problem for me, I don't think so) and they put me on the table and the machine moves over me slowly...I do this self relaxation thing, and lie there with my eyes closed. Then they do my head---and I am in serious discomfort--mentally. They bring the thing down soooooo friggin close. It is big, it could crush your head easy! Then they roll me to my side, and bring it down as close as possible. Well Julie had always done it, I didn't know she did it any different than another tech, she always counted it down for me. Told me when she was at the closest, and would talk me through it. So this new woman is doing it, and she tells me to roll over, and I ask her, will you let me know when it is coming down, she says yes and sighs. I should have known then! Instead, she says "coming down" I am waiting, Julie always brought it down slow. All of a sudden this heavy weight hits my temple and is pushing, I thought it was going to crush me! I know that is not practical thinking, but there is no practical in my fears! I yanked my head out, slid out from under the machine, tried to sit up (my feet are taped together to keep them upright and still)---I just totally freaked out, without warning I was throwing up, I was scared beyond control! I was hyperventilating! It was not pretty!!! I ask for Julie from that point on. I have no idea if she is still there! I will be VERY demanding on how it is done though!!!!

I am also going into these with less fear, before I knew I was dealing with cancer, and was afraid for my life literally---not so now.

Meanwhile, I come home, dug through the medicine cabinet, found some Advil Cold & Sinus, and took it---hoping it would pass ok---it did, headache eased. So...it was time for a follow up anyway---but boy it has my DH agitated to no end.

Had a great lunch with my friend. Was a nice day.

Denise, I know you hate it, but I do agree with your Dr. My SIL had to be unfilled, and then when they took her back to her previous level it was still too tight. It took some work, but they got her to a good level, she has lost all her weight plus several pounds. I am not at goal---a fact my MIL loves pointing out!!! She even told me the girls (my nieces who were banded the first of this month) might beat me to goal. She acts like I have another hundred to lose, I get paranoid when she does that, like I am not seeing myself like I really am....

oh well.

Well, girls, I am off to bed. Will check with y'all in the morning. Rick is stressing seriously---better try to settle him down over this! Talk to ya tomorrow!

Kat

Just checking in. I haven’t been feeling chatty lately. My DH has been home ill for almost a month now. He had been feeling dizzy and our doctor treated him for a sinus infection but it continually got worse. Then he went to a specialist and had a CT scan and hearing test. Nothing showed up there. Doctor said that he had a hardening of the arteries in his head (that accounts for his hard headedness:heh:) but that happens with age (he’s 10 yrs older than me). Last week we went back to the specialist and he ordered an MRI and that showed that he has a condition called mastoidits. And the saga continues…

Now on to me. I had been waiting to wear a pair of jeans I hadn’t been able to wear for about 4 years and every two weeks or so I’d pull them out and try to get in them. So on Saturday I put them on, they were comfortable and out the door I went. Our congregation is doing some renovations and we fixed lunch for about 100 workers, and while we girls were preparing the food one of my friends came up and hugged me and commented on how thin my arms were looking. I proudly thanked her and told her the story about my jeans. She looked down and loudly said ‘you waited to long to wear them, they are too big, and they’re going to fall off!’ When I looked down she was pulling at the leg, and I have to admit when I looked in the mirror I looked like a homeless person in a pair of hand me downs. So another item in the too big pile.

On a sad note, an older friend off mine who has been like a father died last night, he was on hospice so it wasn’t a shock, in fact, it was kind of a relief and is no longer suffering. So I did what I always do when something like this happens…apple fritter. But my calories were still under 1200 and I got all my Protein in.

Also went to the endocrinologist today. I had canceled my appointment earlier this year because I had gained so much weight and I did want to hear him scream at me. He congratulated me on the weight-loss and when I confessed that I had canceled my appt. because I had gain instead of lost weight since the last visit and was ashamed. He admitted that he would have yelled. Now he says I have taken all the fun out of the visit because he can’t complain nor make any money off me because I’m doing so well. I really made me feel good!

Reached my exercise goal for the month!:clap2:

Hope you all have a good evening.

Ms Jen-I hope your dh feels better. Congrats on the jeans fitting!! Go you!!

Terri-I had NO problems with my unfill....quite the opposite. I felt like a new woman walking out of there. While drinking the Water I could tell the difference immediately! I was restricted like you are now...no solids at all!! You will be glad you did it

Judy-I hope you have a great time on your cruise...think of us, OK?

Everyone have a super day!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
