Jenn-I am like you about the bread thing. I miss it so much, but I do not want to think it is OK because then, katy-bar-the-door....

I never really thought I ate that much of it before, now, I know it was a major part of my food intake. I am just trying to find something to replace a sandwich with and I have not found anything yet. I tried chicken wings too..OMG I was in heaven. It is hard to stop eating them though once I start. I have just seen myself getting caught into a rut eating the same old tired stuff over & over and i am scared to branch out into the "unknown".

OMG....i just looked at my own ticker and realized I am almost half way there!! woohooo

Denise you are doing so good woman.. as my band twin and now even a fill twin I watch your progress like a hawk..... I know that if I did as much exercise as you that I would not be lagging so far behind....

I think you're doing fabulous Tracy! I don't exercise nearly like I should...I just started the dance class which is only 1 x a week for an hour, but I try to stay active. Like we went fishing again this weekend. All the walking around the lake, climbing little hills and such should constitute exercise right?? :faint: Other than that I wish I had the energy of HALF of the April bandsters! I see all of these exercise challenges and I'm like "ya right, go for it girls! LOL

I ate horrible today so far, and I'm probably not finished lol...I had chips and dip. Reduced fat ruffles and green onion dip made with light sour cream. It was like heaven!!! :hungry:

Teachlady, I just cracked up about what you said, about seeing your Hooha!!! That is just so funny, and it also happened to me about a week or 2 ago!! I told hubby, wow! I was sitting on the potty this morning, and I could not believe it! I saw my hooha! He said " Well, that is retarted" I told him, he has NO idea what that means to me!!! But, I see you guys do!!

Well I am this groups Band Granny....!!!!

But here are my stats----

Banded 04/24/06

1.75 cc's in a 10cm band designed to hold up to 4cc.'s (I think is how they told me!!!)

I have had 2 fills, have not been adjusted since last July, and still have restriction!

I have lost 91.5 pounds.

Would do this again in a heartbeat!!!

This may fall along the lines of Judy's hooha issue and be TMI----but along with "seeing" it again, other things change as well---and improve A LOT!!!!! Seems as though if you can see it, it works better---imagine that!!!

Tomorrow we are having an early dinner with my DIL's grandparents who we have never met, then we will be leaving for Albuquerque to have Ricks heart fixed. Getting nervous. My Mom and Dad are going to come down to be with me. Which is good/bad!!! I am very glad they are going to be there, but them opting to come, puts it to where our kids are not going to be able to. Son is busy with his new inlaws, and was really struggling with his wife, over it, she was livid that he was going to leave, so we convinced him to stay. My SIL to be is in Houston for 2 weeks with work, so my DD is home alone with both kids...so with her daughter she could call on her ex, and let her stay with Daddy, but not the stepdaughter....and if my Mom isn't home, she has noone to leave them with. The other person she has watch them is her sister on her Dads side, and she just got married yesterday and is off honeymooning....so no kids will be there. DH is fine with that, I am too for the most part, I realize it can't be helped. I will be glad to have my parents. I am surprised, but none of DH's family is going---I think it is because they are pissed off at me, but too bad! We will be fine. I would not admit it to him, but I am afraid to go alone. The last ordeal with him, when he had the GI bleed, and the Dr. told me he would likely expire (oh how I hate that word now!!!) in the next 10 minutes----I have no idea what I would have done if I were alone....I am scared to face this alone now. I don't tell him that tho. Anyway---please remember him in your prayers girls---.

Well, I am off to take a walk, while it has cooled down. Will check in with you guys later!!!

Kat

Such a long day today... we left @ 12:30 for ds's "travel" soccer game and TRAVEL is the key word as we just got home @ 9:30pm! We were in the car 5+ hours for the game + dinner.

Which brings me to today's eating... OMG!... the team stopped @ pizza Hut (disclaimer: I hate, hate, hate, hate Pizza Hut & always have... they always screw up the order, they are always dirty & nasty, I could go on, but you get the drift... ) for dinner... so obviously I had limited choices... I know I should have planned for this in advance, but really didn't realize how far we were going today!... so I had 1/2 plate of salad & 1 (only 1 -- what a miracle!) slice of THIN crust (never had that before) cheese pizza. I took itty, bitty bites of everything & ate really slowly... it all went down fine (again, this bothers me)... I felt satisfied but not full... of course, my brain started to go crazy! :" GIVE ME MORE SALAD! GIVE ME MORE PIZZA!" But I was ok! Is this what it feels like to eat like a "normal" person???

Tomorrow I will go back to my "mushie" stage... Hope I haven't knocked anything out of whack w/today's menu... doesn't feel like it tho... feels fine...

G'nite everyone!

PS -- Denise... would you please be able to adjust your siggy so that your ticker & your signature block are on separate lines so that the text doesn't roll off the page? It would make everything easier & quicker to read. Thanks!

Edited to add: Prayers for you & Rick!

Ahhhhhh another weekend is done. I had a nice long nap after lunch today and then worked outside trimming and watering everything. DH looked at the pool temp and it said 80 so in I go to change into my bathing suit. I spent about 45 minutes doing Water aerobics so I got a good workout. I had 5 oz. of ocean perch fillets for supper along with a quarter cup of baked Beans and a 1/2 cup of diced peaches. It was really yummy. I fried the fish in a little olive oil with just salt and pepper. DH was drooling and didn't sit down to eat his Soup with me... but I told him I understood. Been there, done that! He's doing really well and has lost 32#. I threaten him with chocolate milk shakes if he surpasses me in the weight loss department!! Not fair!!

Kat.. you and Rick will definitely be in my thoughts and prayers. What day exactly will the surgery be? I'd like to say special prayers that day for you both.

Everyone is doing so well on their weight loss!!! Keep up the good work and have a great evening!! And remember.......:cheer2:

hey all... I am a member of the Y and they have machines that hook up to a web site that tracks the weights you lift and cardio activity, you can manually log everything. It is great, you put your weight in and it calculates your calories burned and a bunch of other crazy stuff.

I don't know about signing up but you might want to check it out...

fitlinxx.com I find it helps motivate me. My weight machines are hooked up to the system so I log in to everything I do there but I also log in mowing my yard, walking, Water aerobics... you get the drift.

Kat... you and Rick are in my thought and prayers

Judy, you are so fantastic... I would love to have a 1/4 of your energy.

I have been really working hard at low sugar things, baked Beans? did you make them or buy them... such good Protein, or for something like that should I not worry too much about the sugar?

I am going to my Dr. on Tuesday and I can't wait!

PS -- Denise... would you please be able to adjust your siggy so that your ticker & your signature block are on separate lines so that the text doesn't roll off the page? It would make everything easier & quicker to read. Thanks! :)

Hmmm I'm not sure what you mean...or how to fix it since it looks fine on my page...anyone else have any ideas??

Hmmm Denise's signature works on my page too. You can adjust your view, to move your ads from the right to the left etc. under userCP. You can also choose to eliminate the smiling girl at the top of the LBT opening page, so you may be able to change other settings to let things fit your page better.

Rick has his testing done on Tuesday the 12th, with a TEE being done at 8:30 AM, where they put a camera down into the esophagus (sound familiar???) but they use it to look at the back side of the heart! It is a trans-esophageal echocardiogram. Then he has a form of a drug induced (not the thalium---I forgot exactly what it is, and I have our paperwork put away in the suitcase already) stress test done at 12:30. They said both tests take 3-4 hours each. Then he is free to go with me to dinner and to the motel, and I have to have him back for the procedure/surgery at 6:30 AM Wednesday the 13th. Thank you all for your prayers, knowing I have you all to vent to, and discuss this with, and just cry to if needed helps more than I know how to tell you!!! What a great group of friends you have become to me!!!

Well I took my granddaughters to get ice cream tonight---the woman who owns the ice cream shop is a friend of ours, she had Gastric Bypass surgery 4 years ago. She lost about 85 pounds, looks good, and has maintained it well. She never got that starving sick look to her. She knows I have had the band, so she always gives me a baby cone....and no more!!! She said in her line she had to have a way not to have sweets! She can now eat some but not much.

Well I am off to visit with DH a bit....

TTYL!!!!

Checking in one last time before I head to bed. Am I addicted or what???

Denise.. you need to put the faces part of your signature right under the rest of your signature.. not to the side. That makes the page wide and you have to slide the bar at the bottom to see the other posts. Because yours is wider, the posts are wider. Just move everything to one side in your signature and we'll be back to normal... whatever that is!! lol

Good Monday morning violets-

Everyone have a great day!!

Jenn-So we are about the same goal wise...cool! That is a little extra incentive for me. But seems that you are a exercise queen, so you will probably beat me!! I think that is fantastic! So you are at 226 too? What is your goal weight?

I am off to work...

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well. I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening. So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this?? Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
