This sux.

Really.

(I had to add the "really" because just the 1 line was too short a post, or so I was told by the little box that popped up. What if that's all I wanted to say???)

Pam, I get what you're saying, and that's great for you, but that's not where I am... I WANT to LOSE as MUCH as POSSIBLE as QUICKLY as POSSIBLE... I have no desire to drag out this process any longer than it has to be... I've already had to re-work my end-of-year goal from -85 to -75 and now it doesn't look good for even making the revised goal!! WTF?? I have had patience & I do trust... but I need a little something to keep it going! I am not a happy bander... did I say that already? Well, it's true...

So now I'm stuck here in the house w/work all around me -- work work & house work & holiday work -- and I'm in a pissy mood... and my "evil brain" is telling me to chuck it all "just for today" and eat whatever... "what good is being "good" doing you?" -- so now I need to muster up the strength to fight that old inner battle...

Wah Wah Wah. Poor Poor Pitiful Me!!!

Good Morning, Violets.

sorry you're having a rough patch, Michelle. And yep, Pam hit it right on the head. Patience and Trust. The band will work for you. It already has and it will continue. You just need to tweak it and tweak yourself, whether it be making better choices, adding a little more exercise, staying away from temptations. This is a life long process and look how far you have come since the surgery!!!!! As in any other life problem, attitude is 99% of the battle. Stop focusing on the negatives and look at the positives. Would you have been looking at a sexy dress for New Years last year at this time???? Were people complimenting you on your weight loss last year at this time??? Did you have all these Purple People in your corner last year at this time???? Throw away the @#$% scale and concentrate on YOU and your choices. Until you get to your sweet spot, you're going to need fills. We go in on the 17th for our next one and I don't think I'll get one, but the Bobster definitely will. I'm not hungry after meals and I am full after little tiny bites of 1 cup of food. My only problem is in the evenings before bed and that's head hunger. I'm going to beat it with the new exercise equipment coming this week.

Michelle.. here is the voice of reason to combat the evil voice in your head.

YOU EAT THAT CRAP TODAY AND I'M GONNA KICK YOUR TUSH!!!!!!!!!

Got it??????

Michelle! MONDAYS!!!!!!!!!!!

If it makes you feel any better I was back up to 209 this morning....... 4lbs up and down.... Get out some goal clothes and start trying to get them on.... this for me tells the true story and if you've bee faithful in your exercise I'm betting your booty is firmer and your bod is getting smaller..

Suzie: I am a bad bad bad exerciser........... I have spotty attendance at my gym...... the most exercise I got this weekend was stirring fudge for hours and hours! :P

Thanks everyone on the compliments......... its so hard because when I see the pics I just pick out my flaws... like my mushy gut a multitude of other things.......... but I have to remember what I WAS like a year ago........ I have a horrible pic of me at my sons skating party... I think it will be the focus of today's blog........

I have also found that I have been crying a lot.......... for stupid stuff....... but I realize its because I am no longer able to stress eat..... 1. Restriction does not allow it and 2. When I'm stressed my band swells even more.......

I have to find another outlet and I know that exercise needs to be it.......... but getting my butt in gear in the mornings is a hard one.......

Take care and have a great day.

WWJD

Michelle - Most evidence suggests that shaking up your routine by doing something different with your exercise routine and/or adding/subtracting calories, eating more Protein, and more veggies will help the scale to finally move. What has happened is that your body has simply adapted to your routine...so you need to change it! I found this very interesting article about calories in/calories out, too, which supports the idea that you may be eating too FEW calories: Weight of the Evidence: Calories Count - In More Ways than you Think I am stuck too, but it's because I've been lazy. I understand your frustration....and it's little consolation if 1,000,000 people have been in your shoes and feel your pain. It's still your pain.

How can you change things up?

Michelle -

I talk to myself like that all the time.... so I guess I've flipped my lid too.

I walk by a mirror and rip myself apart, i put on clothes and rip myself apart, I stress and I swell, i'm a mess right now too.

Well, there was a 2 hr delay this morning so dd just left for school. ds is getting himself dressed, I'm not going to shower, going to throw on my sweats and go to the gym and do a little running/shopping. I need to get out of this house!

Tracyks- you look great, but I understand what you are saying. I'm bouncing around the same 5lbs that you are... Onderland is so close I can taste it but just can't get there...

Thanks, gals, for your replies!!

In my head I know that what you say is true... just need to hear it from someone other than myself sometimes!!

I am not giving up... I will make it through 'til Friday and then get the biggest fill that they'll give me!! The hunger and growling stomach are driving me batty!

I think I'm going to pretend that I'm just starting and do shakes for the week 'til the fill... CAN I??? is the question!!

Argh!

Thanks again for all the purple lovin'... I needed it!!

Michelle

I am doing shakes today, I usually do them 1 week a month to jump start or get my butt back on track, but I have been a mess since Aunt's funeral and Thanksgiving. and today is my 1st day off since Thanksgiving so I figured what a better time to start when I'm home for 2 days with no pizza shop food around.

so I guess something to remind me what a fat ass I am would not be good.. LOL

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
