Tracy-do you think maybe since he is the "super smart" catagory that maybe school bores him and he needs advanced classes?

Tracy, Good Luck with your dinner tomorrow night but I have a feeling all will go well. You are a very stong and reasonable person. But I'm gonna send a hug for you anyway.

I missed the meeting last month also. I think it rained that day right? I was planning on going tomorrow but we found out a couple of hours ago that we are headed for Montana first thing in the morning. We got a call that my husband's Uncle has lung cancer and it's not good. So his sister and her husband are going with us and we figured we better do it before the weather turns bad up there. Hopefully we can meet at the next meeting.

Everyone have a good weekend and I will check in when I get the chance to.

Good Luck everyone.:clap2:

Hellooooooooooooooooooo?

Anybody out there?

I have been trying, trying, trying to be "good" all day... Protein Shake for b'fast, small salad w/chicken for lunch, Protein pudding for dinner, 1 90 cal piece of cheese for snack... and now I am HUNGRY HUNGRY HUNGRY and trying oh-so-hard to STAY OUT OF THE KITCHEN!! Waah waah!! Poor poor pitiful me! I do not like this no restriction/no fullness!!

I think I will go upstairs, get in pj's, and curl up in bed & watch tv... far away from the kitchen & its temptations...

Poor ds & dh... they are at a soccer tournament game in 40 degree, cold rainy weather! & have to go back again @ 7am tomorrow morning! DH was kind & said that dd & I didn't have to go tonight. I may take ds tomorrow morning (if he doesn't have pneumonia from tonight!!) to be kind to him.

Ok... off to bed... what a wild & crazy Friday night for me!

Well I have had a kind of stressful day, but NO sugar was needed!!!!

I went tonight and did a customers hair who has ALS, she has been able to come to the shop, but now my gosh the past 2 months!!! I wanted to cry while I was doing her hair. I can't imagine how she must be feeling or her husband and kids. She can't talk, she can't hold her neck up, just to name a few horrible things. She has to be about my age give or take a few years, and I have been doing her hair for probably about 10 or 15 years now, and to see what she used to be, and what has happened to her breaks my heart. while I was cutting her hair there was an accident with her feeding tube and it got all over. She was wet, but couldn't say anything, and I had a cape over her, so you couldn't see anything. She must have been mortified!!! Her husband took care of it, and was great aboutit, but still... I can't get her out of my mind. So if you say prayers, say a special one of the Cook family!!

Jane

Definitely, Janie! Our problems really are all relative. Being healthy is so often taken for granted. You're so kind to go to her & help her feel pretty & better about herself.

Michelle - It helps me be good by brushing my teeth and taking listerine.

Janie - I will keep the Cook family in my prayers!

Tracy - I will be thinking about you and hope all works out well with DSS.

Have a good night everyone.

Suzie - where to you live?

TracyKS - My son kinda "went south" when he hit puberty...about the age of 14 for him. We went through so much turmoil for 2 years so learn from my experience:

1) Have a comprehensive history and physical done by a pediatrician

2) Have a comprehensive evaluation done by a psychologist

3) If they suggest a visit to a psychiatrist, by all means, go. There are so many things that go haywire when those hormones kick in and depression is a very real possibility. For Evan he was dx'd with bipolar disorder AND ADHD! These things were only determined after 2-3 visits to the psychologist who specialized in learning difficulties (Evan suddenly starting flunking school), then a trip to the psychiatrist. We were desperate to find answers because our child had just make a total 180 in such a short time and was in real trouble. Within 3 months of starting his medication he was back to normal....or even better!! It was a miracle....a complete miracle. But his symptoms could have easily been chalked up to just "being a teenager". Talk therapy did not help at all. It wasn't psychological pain that was causing his problems...it was a brain chemistry imbalance caused by raging hormones. His doctor expects that he will be able to come off his medications by the time he is 21 or 22.

Just my two cents. Don't waste too much time. Hit the ground running!

All my bags are packed and I'm ready to go. (do you like my singing?)

Just have a few more things to put in my bag, so now I'm just sitting here watching Oprah. She had the Osmonds on today. I'll get up about 3am so I can finish up and pack the car. Need to stop at Wal-Mart for a few things and then on the road. If we do 600 miles a day we should be there late Sunday night. whew, I'm tired already.

Terri, I live in the "Shoe-Me Sate". Home of the KC Chiefs, MU Tigers and Brad Pitt. Missouri, I'm right out of the Kansas City area. I think I'm about 30 miles from Tracy.

Everybody have a great weekend :clap2:

I am so obsessed, but so is my daughter! LOL - I rented a fetal doppler and we heard the baby's heartbeat today for the first time! It was averaging about 165 beats per minute....it was so tiny but so fast! I almost cried - well ya, I was teary eyed...

I can't wait to be a grandma!!! This is so wonderful experiencing this with my baby girl :)

I was at my lowest weight so far this morning - 211.6 - slowly but surely!

Everyone is doing so great!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
