Good Morning Violets~

I am impressed to know so many shrinkin skinny bitches...I hope you remember those you leave behind. :)

I went to the gym today...2 days in a row. After yesterdays 200 crunches and 40 side crunches I can barely move. I was gonna skip the crunches today, but wanted to push myself and I did 70 crunches...and 30 sides. I am proud of myself for the gym, but I have a confession: (looks around to see if Judy is listening???) I don't think I am following the rules w/ the eating thing. The drinking thing is hard. I want to know exactly what are the rules I am supposed to be following. I want to push past this same -21 to -23 pounds. I haven't changed the ticker since I made it...and I haven't bought myself any more charms:whoo:. I know I've messed up w/ the occasional Goober etc...but yesterday, I had a bowl of Kashi Go Lean and then went to lunch and had a Cobb salad...and had that for dinner and late night snack too. Anyway, I am still positive and glad I had the band. I love working out part...and am just hoping a stronger fill on Friday will help. I am not complaining really...just a quick vent!!!

So here is a post question: What did all you shrinking violets eat yesterday? Just a quick menu post. Please be honest, so many of you are losing great amounts and some of us are wondering...

I'm in the same boat, Pamela. I'm committing to a new goal today of staying below 1000 calories at least for the rest of August. Faithfully tracking my cals on Calorie Counter, Diet Tracking, food Journal, Nutrition Facts at The Daily Plate and being brutally honest. I did that for yesterday's calories and found I ate 1250 calories. OH, and then I remembered those peanut M&M's I shoved into my mouth mindlessly and had to add another 250 cals!...making my total 1500+ for the day. That's not gonna cut it.

Will you join me??

So here is a post question: What did all you shrinking violets eat yesterday? Just a quick menu post. Please be honest, so many of you are losing great amounts and some of us are wondering...
Well I didnt get home from work until 10pm last night (went in at 7:30am), so I wasn't as good as I should have been LOL...here goes:

1. Breakfast - Lean Pocket breakfast sandwich (150 calories)

2. lunch - Smart Ones - Spicy Szechuan Style Vegetables and chicken - (240 calories)

3. snack - almonds (120 calories)

4. Another snack - handful of peanut m&m's and handful of organic tortillas (345 calories)

4. dinner (late dinner!) - 1 1/2 cups Rice Chex Cereal with 1/2 cup milk and splenda (220 calories)

Total calories: 1075 :)

I see a pattern developing w/ the PEANUT M&M'S...aaaaahhhhhaaa...that is the secret. Thanks...gotta go buy some!!! Just kidding...thanks ladies keep posting.

Terri, will I join you in the 1000 cal goal? Yes, I haven't eaten yet today, just coffee and that has about 40 cal from the Creamer. I will track today. Again, it is easier when I am working full time, then packing my own lunches.

No, you don't want to do what I'm doing!! I'm not losing! Haven't lost a pound in almost a month.

One thing I have been religious about is not eating 3+ hours before bedtime. I want to avoid ANY chance of reflux problems!!!

I'm also strict about not drinking during or 1/2 hour+ after meals. Also, I always get in my 64 oz of fluids.

Yesterday:

Coffee & SF creamer

B: cottage cheese & blueberries

L: scrambled eggs with cheese and beef bologna (weird but it was all I had in the fridge)

D: grilled turkey brat w/ketchup w/ a few dorito’s (less than 5)

Sn: ½ oatmeal cookie

60 oz’s of water

1 glass of Dt dr pepper

Looking at your food yesterday the one thing that sticks out is hardly ANY real Protein.< /p>

My body will CRAVE carbs if I eat CARBS even if it's only a little.

Trade calorie carbs for protein carbs for a week and see the difference. Number one you won't be as hungry, Number two the protein burns slower plus the side benefit is the Water weight that is shed by NOT taking in so many carbs.

I exercise on the health rider every other days and am pretty active but I think it's the low carbs that I eat.

I don't count and I DO eat carbs but not much. I really, really try to eat protein first, veggies second and then a few carbs.

I don't get in enough water but I'm working on it.

Morning everyone.

TracyKS - I hope the job move was a good one,... sounds like it.

Well ladies. I can make you all feel better about what you ate yesterday. I didn't even count but it was not good

Breakfast - 3 cups coffee w/ ff creamer

bottle of Water. (didn't think I was ever going to stop peeing after my hr long trip to the mall)

lunch - 3 chicken tenders and a small bowl of lettuce with salsa

dinner - 3 chicken tenders

late dinner - 3 steamed dumplings and 1/2 cup chicken and black bean sauce.

how is that... I didn't even want to get on the scale this am, I can feel the bloat from the chinese

Today - 1 cup coffee

shake for breakfast

shake for lunch

dinner - i'm going to have a bowl of lettuce and maybe some tuna in it.

going to stick to the liquid diet thing for a few days to try to jump start - i'm good at maintaining

Morning Ladies!

Sorry I've been MIA, we went out of town last minute on Thursday night.. went to Tunica (Little Las Vegas in Mississippi).

I took $300 and came home with $800. WOOHOO! First time I can ever say I came up so ahead, normally I go with DH and one of us wins and other loses, so the 'wins' go to the loser so they can keep playing. DH didn't go, had his friends from TN come down and stay with him.. I went with my parents, sister and her gf. It was a lot of fun, nice little break. Room service and movies. Mmm.

Ok, I am no longer calling it my TOM, its my OOMTOM. (One of MANY). Grrr.

I've been afraid of the pills my gyno gave me to 'fix it', since they're anti-estrogen and B/C is estrogen, etc.. But I think I'm just going to have to make DH use condoms because this is ridiculous. I am bleeding way too much and my B/C is like it's not even affecting me.

But because of my OOMTOM, I feel fat right now, like.. I'm gaining weight. Since I have no scale, there's no telling. I am craving bad food like mad.. I haven't been eating it, but yesterday I ate several of my 100 calories 'snacks' in one sitting.. well kind of, in 3 hours I had 4 of them.

Also, I noticed a pattern in my eating, and I'm not sure what to do about it.

If I eat food in the morning (b'fast), I will be hungry all day. For example, if I eat a yogurt or piece of toast at 9am, by 11am I am starving for lunch, by 2pm I'm ready for another meal, by dinner I am starving again, and after dinner I want to snack till bedtime.

But, if I skip b'fast.. I'm not hungry till well past lunchtime. And when I eat, I don't want a lot.. and then I'm not hungry again till dinner, and then I have my snack cravings till bedtime.

But if I eat b'fast, I eat a lot more throughout the day! WHY?! I know I'm suppose to eat b'fast, but I'm wondering if it's worth it. This is frustrating, what do you guys think I should do??

Oh, one more thing.. The Biggest Loser was having auditions in Tunica this weekend while we were there.. I almost went lol. I thought, I'll have a heads up, won't tell them I was banded. Hehe!

Laura - I'm sorry you are having such a hard time, and I know the craving thing... holy smokes, i was freaking out last night and needed to have chinese. thanks TOM -

I know what you are saying, if i don't eat breakfast i'm so much better too but I know it is important for your metobalism. Find things you can eat that will keep you within your cals for the day. I usually have ice cream every night because I am hungry. it is all in the choices, but we all do know it is best to have 3 meals a day.

blah blah blah... I know, I think I'm trying to convince myself too.

I'm sorry you are having such problems with TOM and B/C.

Househuntress, way to go on the 50 lbs!! woo hoo!! That's my next step!

Terri - I never knew you smoked! You never smelled like smoke! I'm glad you're quitting! Have you checked to see if maybe eating more calories will help you lose? I know that if I don't eat 1200 then I just stop losing. I've been really lax these past few weeks with all my house stuff and I'm not eating like i should be. I've stopped losing. As soon as I get back up to 1200 i'll drop another pound.

Laura - I'm the same way when it comes to breakfast. If I fast and don't eat a thing until about 1 pm then I'm not hungry the rest of the day. But when I eat breakfast then I'm hungry again around 11am, again around 2pm, again at 6pm... and on and on... I know that I'm supposed to eat breakfast but I also question the payoff...

What I ate yesterday:

-2 pieces of Melba Wheat toast with one TBSP Peanut Butter and strawberry preserves

-Bean burrito from Taco Bell

-Pepperidge Farm chocolate chip cookie

-Tuna with Pasta with brocoli - 1 cup

I didn't track it so I don't know the calories...

I know, which is why I said that it wasn't a good day...only 36 grams of protein. My usual daily protein intake is about 60+ grams...yesterday was horrible. I didn't plan on being at work nearly as late as I was, it's just we're down 3 nurses and 1 clerical staff, so I'm putting in a lot of hours.

Today will be a better day! So far I've had 1/2 cup 2% cottage cheese and a banana. I figure my intake on Calorie Counter Database - Free Online Diet Program and for what I have planned today, it's under 1000 calories with 88grams of protein and only 75grams of carbs.

I agree, I have to have my protein too or I feel horrid!!!:sick

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
