Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Recommended Posts

Sara – I agree with Terry, she makes a lot of good points. FIL doesn’t understand the full picture or how the band works. Please don’t think twice about his comment. I will keep the thoughts and prayers going for Dave, you and your family.

Pam – love the pictures of the rooms – you did a wonderful job. Looks like the pain was well worth it.

Theresa – good luck with the personal trainer and congrat’s on the NSV.

Judy – congrat’s on the NSV Capri’s!

Jane – congrat’s on your NSV – I can relate – I use to use a seatbelt extension while flying – I think this is finally behind me forever!

Kat – oops… wisdom IS a good thing – I wish I would have had it when I was 16 – rather than a know it all! (LOL). What a wonderful Birthday present to yourself – 100lbs gone – forever!!!!!!!!!

Jennifur – congrat’s on exceeding you exercise challenge! Good luck on the job front!

I am getting ready to head out of the office for my HOPEFULLY 3rd fill!
Good luck Tracy!!! I've definitely noticed a difference since my 3rd fill....my hubby and I have made a deal that we're not going to go out and eat for at least 2 weeks...that's a MAJOR deal for us so wish us luck! LOL

I seriously believe that if it weren't for eating out so much I'd be losing faster...however, I AM losing, so I'm also ok with that. :)

Let us know how your visit went!!!

Well I'm back! According to the doc I'm down 13 lbs since the last time I weighed at his office.. They were THRILLED.. however I was actually UP 4 lbs on my scale this morning, but I semi did it on purpose so that I would get a fill............... most of it is Water, as my feet are swelled up like a toads butt, and I ate way more than normal last night.

I could really tell a difference in my band about 4 days ago... it noticably loosened up and I was able to eat more and my normal meals were not holding me as long......... Wouldn't it be awesome to be down 40-50lbs from today for my wedding?????

He did however give me a fill................. .75 cc's so that means I am technically filled to 3.50, but he said most likely a little less since he hasn't pulled it all out to check the level.

I'm like holy crap.............. 3.5cc's in a band that hold 4 cc's........ I'm going to be TIGHT!

Its liquids tonight and tomorrow.............. GOODY GOODY

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now its time to get my Water in....

Tomato Soup with milk for dinner....

He had a bit of trouble finding the spongey part of the port... he was really digging around.. the entire time, I'm like "Please God Don't let my port flip!"

Its sooooo funny........... DF called earlier to tell me that he was ohhh sooo sorry that I would be missing out on a really good italian meal tonight... (a chef at one of the places he worked today told him to bring his family in tonight for dinner on him) It is a ritzy really DELICIOUS place that he had been wanting to take me too................ I was NOT amused.... so after he teased me about having Soup and Protein Shakes he said that he had asked if we could do it later in the week.... and the chef agreed. Yippeeeee

Hi all,

Personal trainer kicked my butt! I worked with her before when I was on Weight Watchers but then it all fell apart. I didn't want to start back with her until I was sure I was going to stick with it. With 39 pounds down the exercises were easier and less humiliating. I hate laying on my back on the floor doing crunches, I feel like a turtle on it's back! She is great and she told me to do strength training at least 4 times a week to help the skin tighten up! I feel good now, but I know I am going to be in trouble tomorrow.

The Zumba class was fun I was so sweaty. At the end of the class she said to raise your knee and grab it and pull it toward you, well I grabbed my knee but it was so sweaty it slipped out, my foot hit the floor my hands nearly clocked me in the head I looked like Jerry Lewis!!! I don't think anyone noticed anyway.

Thanks for all the encouragement ladies, I appreciate it!

Theresa

Hey Violets~

Just wanted to pop in and say hi! Susanne left today :D, but she'll be back Thursday...and we leave on Friday for the Cape! I hate it the first night she leaves, it feels sooo lonely...and I always get the munchies.

I hope everyone has a nice night. Thanks for the nice comments on the rooms...it feels so good to have it done!

xoxo

Pamela---Rick and I did the long distance relationship for 2 years while he completed school. I agree the first night is the worst! At least this one is a short separation!

And the closet & your rooms did look really great!

Tracyinks.....I'm actually a January Bandster and have the same Doc as you! My appt was today also and I saw you there! I was the one with 4 boys who came in right as you went back for your fill. Was pretty sure it was you from your picture, was going to say something when I sat down but they called your name. Then when you came out, they called my name!!! I was able to get him to give me .3cc for a total of 3.3 in a 4cc band. Anyway, just wanted to say hi.....wishing now that I would of made them wait for a minute so I could introduce myself!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
