There are sooooooooooooooo many GOOD things going on right now it's hard to send out personals to everyone....

Denise: WoooooooootWOOOOOOOt!

MS_Jen: 12 meds down to 3.... that is amazing and yes.. you definately should put the money in a "someday" pot.. for a vacation or new boobs! or a REALLY GOOD BRA & a vacation! :grouphug:

Jennifer: How are you doing today? I know you've been down lately, and I think you need a good ol dose of SELF LOVIN! You have done so good... I mean go look at your before pics and your NOW pics.. there is a HUGE HUGE difference in the two........ ENJOY the ride DOWN the scale.< /p>

Terry: Congrats on the Iphone..... don't know what EXACTLY has gotten into DF, but what the hell I'm ENJOYING it! 3 times in one week after 9 months of NOTHING.. and he is the one keeping me up on the net making wedding plans..... (we surfed SONGS last night) ?????? Maybe it has been a reaction to me actually being happy and carefree, maybe its that the cloud hanging over our relationship has been lifted, maybe its that seeing his longtime buddy marry his girlfriend of 7 years and her giving DF crap about it dragging his feet, pushed him over the edge... I DON'T KNOW... and I don't care. :grouphug:

I am wearing a dress today that has not fit in a couple years.... I really need to drink my Water today... my fingers are so swollen....

WWJD :grouphug:

Good Thursday Morning, Violets!~~

Hope this post posts today... man I was peeved yesterday when that post evaporated into the ozone!

Not much to report... still going down & enjoying it!... scale read 277.6 today!... AND I'm expecting TOM to arrive on Saturday, so I can't figure how I'm still going down this week & not up... hmmmmmmmmmm... well, I won't look a gift horse in the mouth! (who made up that crazy saying, anyway??)

Tracy, your rings are beautiful... I'm so excited for you!

Ms Jen, Congrats on the meds! My docs told me to come back at -50 & we'd check med levels then.

Adorable, Fantastic NSV! You go girl!

Jenn, I agree w/Tracy... be gentle w/yourself... your bod has been going through a lot, physically & emotionally/stress-wise, and it's probably just catching up, levelling out, taking a break -- whatever you want to call it... keep on doing the right things & it'll pay off! In the meantime, pamper yourself!

Wonder how Judy and her "Clay-mates" are doing on their trip!

Make it a great day, everyone!

Terry - not that I am trying to make excuses - but I have a herniated disc - that started my whole - lose weight NOW journey. I went to my doctor a few weeks ago - because I want to, need to, exercise. I thought about joining Curves -- well he says no -- still have disc issue.

Say's I need to go get shots and most likely surgery -- I HATE needles. I HATE SURGERY. He gave me a TENS unit to try see if it helps with pain.

So -- I am thinking of joining curves anyway and deal with pain starting AUG 1. ??? Hmmmm...

Gina - You know I'm just messin' with ya, right?? :grouphug: I am so sorry about the disc!! My MIL has several and she is in so much pain alllll the time. You do exactly as your doctor tells you! You don't want to make things worse!!
Forgot to tell my Violet's, that I wenT to my primary dr and he took me off of all my meds but 3. I was on 12.
That's the SECOND BEST kind of NSV there is!!! Denise's is the ULTIMATE BEST!.... LOL
So my daughters car broke down today and we had to have it towed. The tow truck driver was HOT...well he was lots younger than me, probably 26 or so, but my 24 yr old daughter was drooling over him. LOL

Anyway, he flirted with me the ENTIRE time...I mean BAD. Then he didn't charge me for the tow...my hubby was like, "ok but if he calls you again (yes he called my cell once), you let me know!" LOL

Man, you must be floating on a cloud!!! Hot wrecker driver!! That's the stuff fantasies are made of!! Woo hoo!!!!
Terry: don't know what EXACTLY has gotten into DF, but what the hell I'm ENJOYING it! :grouphug:
Wow!! He must be taking happy pills or something!!? No matter.... ya'll sound like you're having a blast and that's all that matters. You deserve it all, girl. You deserve it ALL!!!!

I'm down another pound today (to 190) and have no idea why....except that I've skipped my workouts....and maybe Water is leaving my muscles. It will be an interesting experiment to see if I gain over the weekend as I make up these sessions.

Love you guys!

Morning Ladies!

It's finally Thursday and that means tomorrow is Friday and then I'm officially on VACATION. The weekend is jam packed but at least I'll get to sleep on the plane on the way there. On Saturday I'm going to try to get this forsaken garage sale going. I've had my stuff sitting around for weeks. Hopefully not too much rain. After the garage sale we are taking off for a casino in Lousiana. Woo Hoo! Girls only. We always have a blast. We come back early Sunday morning and then at 3pm I have one of my cooking shows. After I get done with that I have to go home and get packed. Like I said, I'll sleep on the plane Monday morning! I am so so ready for some sunshine. A week in the sun will lift my spirits! Tonight I have to go bathing suit shopping. Ugh. So fun.

No time for personals right now but know that I am thinking about each and everyones struggles and victories. Love ya'll!

Have a good rest of your day!

Morning girls,

Denise, I can hear the sizzle-----HOT Mama indeed!!!! Doesn't it feel awesome to know you can still turn a head or 2!!?? I actually got some looks at the rally---and it was so bizarre! I could show some cleavage, and it actually be cleavage, rather than just another roll!!! I bet your DD was in awe! WTG!!!!

Tracy---hard to say what clicked in DF. Perhaps your new self confidence, and ease at which you navigated on HIS turf, made you less needy in his eyes....I hear needy is a no-no!!!! I am so glad he is going into it gungho, as opposed to dragging his feet though. Knowing he WANTS to get married, as opposed to doing it because he supposes thats what he should do, makes such a difference! Enjoy the side benefits as well----you have time to make up for!!!!!

Michelle---I have lost many a post over this last upgrade....always irritates the hell outta me!!! I agree, just get on and hold on and enjoy the ride down on the scale!!! I have avoided the scale today, I have not ate well the last 2 days. Last night, I ate waaaay too much, and ate 2 desserts!!!! We had a family dinner, and I just nibbled my way through the entire night!! But the good thing about the band is I can go back to eating well today, and not fight the hunger, and feeling deprived. I love being able to enjoy the special times, and not just totally jump ship!

I did get my exercise in though Terry! I took Kinsey to the park in town and they have an exercise circuit. Slant boards for crunches, steps for lunges...all kinds of things, with a board at each of the 10 stations suggesting uses for the equipment. Pull ups----out of the question---I am a weakling wimp! I kid you not, I could move my biody maybe 4 inches TOPS! I was ashamed! Of course at 289 I likely could not have even hung there, without severe dislocation of my shoulders! We did the circuit, and I walked the track while a friend kept an eye on Kinsey at the playground. Today I hope to hit Curves, oops no I probably won't make it. I leave Kinsey with my Mom if I go during the early part of the day...but Mom is gone on her Anniversary trip...and as soon as Kinsey leaves today I had a blood donation appointment. And exercise is discouraged, until your body replenishes itself---so sounds like a walking day, either this morning, or tonight.

Jenn, how late do you end up working at the pizza place? My Dr. told me sometimes it takes the body a longer time to wean off of the diuretics, than other meds. So I wouldn't stress over it too bad, one thing about them, even Rx ones, they are usually the cheaper of the drugs.

Speaking of drugs---I think (which is scary in and of itself) it was Jennifer maybe that got rid of so many of her scrips---I may be wrong, I read that though and was so amazed!!! Can you imagine the strain being eased off of your internal organs not having to process all those meds! Totally impressive!!!!!

Gina--so sorry to hear about your back--have you done the usual PT route? It might actually help to try it again, now that you are losing the weight. I have a herniation at L-4, L-5, at an S-1 station. Which basically for those of you not in pain from this means, that the disc is bulging and putting pressure on my sciatic (known around my house as the psychotic) nerve. It causes lower back pain, but in my case, it hurts more through the hip, my butt and down my leg, seriously ending in my big toe. If I flexed my foot it felt like a streak of fire running into my foot! I ignored it for too long, and ended up with permanent nerve damage, and have a tingling burning sensation in the outer leg just above the knee, but not quite in the thigh area yet....ALL the time. It is numb, to stimulation, but still has serious nerve pain.

I did Physical Therapy 3 different times, prior to the weight loss, because at my weight they did not want to operate. I had a definite difference if I faithfully did my exercises and stretches. I still get twinges, but nothing like before. The damage is always going to be there, my fault. But, I stretch EVERY day before getting out of bed even. Rick accuses me of teasing him!!! The last MRI showed a 30% rescension (sp?). It has attempted to slide back into the proper place! It will never go away, but the weight loss has to have helped! My best friend, has a similar herniation, and has had surgery on hers. BUT she does not do any stretches or exercise in any manner. And she refuses to quit smoking. They told her her odds of proper healing would increase by 50% if she would quit smoking due to the oxygen saturation---but she didn't....and still has problems. She is of normal weight. Well she is overweight, but not seriously. I have to smile, I said she was of normal weight, and she and I are VERY close in weight now, especially since I have 4 inches on her in height!!! Woohoo!

Ask about more PT with the weight loss...thenmaybe they can work you into a soft routine with something like Curves. It is not high impact. My Mom has fibromylagia, and she does Curves, she just does each station very slowly, the machines are not weighted, they have like resistance shocks---the faster you go on them, the more resistance they build. Like trying to open and close say a storm door real fast---it gets harder to do...they are the same. So she does a slow repetitive motion, just to retain flexibility, not build muscle. I would never suggest you go against what the Dr. says, but maybe if you get the beginings from one of their own PT programs, you could move on to something like Curves.

Another thing, that was suggested to me by my Uncle who is a MD, was to work my abs. He said simply tightening them and holding for 5 seconds, and then pushing them out as far as possible and holding for the same 5, and doing it as often and as long per session as I could stand would help the abdominal muscles support the spine, and it would help. I do not know how much each bit helped. I know the weight loss was a huge help, but it wouldn't hurt to try! I know your pain, and I sympathize. I know someday I will have a flare up again, and I dread it something fierce!

I think I am afraid to ask where Laura is---they may have moved on out to the back yard to christen it!!! j/k Laura!!!

Ok---I HAVE to go clean my kitchen. We baked bacon this morning, my Granddaughter could eat her weight in bacon!

TTYL --

Kat

Ok...my update. (skip ahead if this is too boring for you...sorry, this is my vent place)

Today the exterior is starting to get painted!!! That feels great. The damn door guy is here again (this is the 3rd day to hang 2 doors and a screen). He is a nice guy, but seems a little on the "rides the short bus" side. He said today should only be 1 hour...I'll let you all know (I am sure your all waiting w/ baited breath).

The acoustic removal guy (who did NOT show yesterday) said he'd be here at 7:30, and it is now 7:40. I CAN'T STAND THIS SHIT. (sorry for all the tender ears out there...but this is killing me). I just hope he shows up at all. I told him yesterday, "I am gonna tell Santa Claus to get you a watch for Christmas". (you can take the teacher out of the classroom, but not the classroom out of the teacher).

Other than that, I did not go to the gym today. I planned it that way. I really am trying to break my plateau before Cape Cod...anything more than -23. So I will work out for 2 days, 2 days off, and continue w/ that.

Ok, he is here...20 min late, not too bad. Check in later.

xoxo

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
