Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Recommended Posts

Good Morning Violets..

Well, I'm stuck on a plateau for sure. I can't resist weighing in every day and I've been at the same weight since the 8th of July. Grrrrrrrrrrr. I guess I should have had the fill when I had the option. I'll know better next time. Just have to hold out until the 30th when I get my second fill. I'm following all the rules...eating right, exercising every day, but I think my body is trying to catch up with everything right now. At least that's my excuse for the moment. DH is losing steadily. He's looking and feeling great. I feel great too and he tells me I'm looking good, so I'll take his word for it. It's a lazy day today. I'm going to go finish my cottage cheese and blueberries for Breakfast. Catch ya all later!!

TracyKS - Got plans for the gym in the AM???

Kat - How are your workouts going????

Who else around here needs an a$$ kicking??

as a matter of fact YES! I was at the gym at 4:40 a.m! :D

and BTW you ARE the greatest thing since sliced bread!

Haydee: the cranberry tip for that salad... YUM!

Michelle: Have fun at the Water pilates class, and I'm with Terry.. I don't give a crap what I look like.. I wear my hair up pair of workout pants and a baggy tshirt.. my face gets really red really easy always has.. so I'm used to looking like a beet.

was down from 237.6 to 237.4.......... I'll take it! :)

TracyKS - yes, if our bodies are all the same I guess this would be much easier. LOL

I am going to address the Water thing with my nutritionist. and I just realized next week is my week, so I like to think that would be part of it too, but by time I go to work at 4 I usually weigh less than I did in the am. Yes I check because of the water issues at work, I'm trying to monitor so I can discuss Friday.

Off to the gym - be back

When I look at my weight loss chart, I notice that my weight ALWAYS goes up before it goes down to a new number.

Jenn - Already going back down to 1000? If you're working at the gym so hard, why not try keeping it at 1200+ for a week or so? I think you're just getting run down! ....but you know best, I'm sure.

Kat - Uh, sounds like you've got the exercise thing covered!! :D For the record, that broccoli salad I posted is raw broccoli. And your stuffed zucchinni sounds so good! I wish I was more imaginative in the kitchen. :/

I can cook, I just can never think what to cook! Nor do I enjoy cooking 'cause I never have the time to do it right. These days DH and I are both at the gym at dinner hour, home about 7:00 then I've got to eat something real quick so it's digested before bedtime. Oh! To be retired!!

I know exactly what you mean Terry, I actually enjoy cooking, I just get tired of deciding what the heck to cook. My DIL, when she isn't mad and pouting, is always looking for recipes, and has had me going through some of mine...and I keep going "oh yeah, I forgot about that!!!" Unreal how many of my recipes are for sweets though!!!

Back when I had the day care, I did lots of crock pot cooking, and weekend cooking. I would cook a family pack of chicken breast. Now that wouldn't work too well, I have trouble sometimes with reheated meat, it loses its moisture I guess. I now have time most days to plan something for dinner, it isn't always the greatest "diet"wise, but I don't ever eat much in the evening, so it has worked so far!!! Speaking of, I guess I should get my stuff in the crockpot and get going....

Have a good one guys!

Kat

Ok you are right, but I have backed off the workouts, haven't you all noticed my numbers are not changing as quickly. Althought i need to update them right now.

I didn't have eggs with breakfast this am, that was where I was going to cut the cals. I had a pita with cheese and turkey sausage - 300cals 22g Protein

I can't wait to go on friday to be told what to do - I think then I'll feel better.

anyhoo... I am going to shower and get some thing done around here before I have to go to work. today is a rain day and is going to be all week.

Good Morning Violets~

Well after a near melt down when I counldn't find my violets, I am back and doing better.

Quick post, I've got the ceiling guys coming any minute and a window guy coming to give me a bid. I got one yesterday for 3600...for windows. I am hoping I get 2 lower bids today.

I went to the gym, although it nearly killed me. I could barely do 2 miles, but I did 'em. Then did the regular machines plus 100 crunches and 60 side ab things.

I get my fill this morning, so I just finished a big breakfast, lol...last day to chew for a while. I had steak (leftovers) and eggs, and a whole wheat muffin. I know, bad girl, but it is shakes and Soup for the next few days. I'll post more later on the fill.

I am so glad I found you...have a great day!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
