MS_Jen: WOW 5 lbs! AWESOME BLOSSOM! :)

I attacked a flower bed in the front of my house this morning it had become ebarassingly overgrown with weeds and the worst "glory vines" my grandma used to call them... PAIN in the ASS is what I call them... anyway... I transplanted some stuff I wanted to save, then weed whacked everything down, sprayed some GROUND CLEAR on it and then dumped 10 bags of mulch and then resprayed it....... I replaced my little bench and frog and with the work I did yesterday I am very happy with the front now............. I also moved some vinca vine around the newly planted hosta's and then I just sat back and enjoyed the fruits of my labor....... B)

Fill is still holding steady! 230's this week!!!!!!!!!!!! I can feel it.

Tracy... I'd definitely say that constitutes a workout for you on your July Challenge!!! You'll have to take pics and show us the fruits of your labor.

I jsut got back from Fashion Bug. They are closing their store here in Alpena and everything that is left is 50% off. I got some shirts, and some jeans and a few things in a smaller size. It's soooooooo nice to be able to go to the Misses side of the store instead of the PLUS side! Because of that fact, I'm not so sad about Fashion Bug leaving. They have really nice plus size clothes, but I am just about able to go to Penneys and get into the misses sizes there. Can I hear an AMEN?? :)

I'm going to lie down for a little nap before we start working on the fencing.

Hello Girls...It's Buzz lighthead here!!

"Happiness is the freedom to be as we are, however we are;

richer or poorer, in sickness or in health,

gaining or losing, succeeding or failing,

wanting or not wanting, approving or not approving, forever.

Happy is what we are and what we'll be if we don't believe we are wrong to be as we are."

We all need to recognise our right and NEED to set ourselves free, free from the voice in your head that tells you you're not good enough, or that your life is not good enough or that you are not fulfilling all your wants and desires.

Our best defence is to be ourselves, as we are, if you're sitting there reading this and feeling bad because you haven't mopped the floor...so what, do it later..just remember no everyone in the world has mopped theirs yet either!!

I am sure I am not the only one that is happy to see that you feel better. What wonderful & inspiring words you posted!! Lets hear it for you!!!:clap2:

Ms Jen...YAY you too!! That is awesome!!!:clap2::clap2::clap2:

Kat-I am so glad that little Kinsey is feeling better....that is awesome! I know how relieved you must be.

I just got back from the baseball game (astros vs mets)...we won!

I had a grea time, but then again, I always do have fun at the ball park! Another Monday tomorrow. It is times like this I wish I were a teacher too like so many of you lucky gals. At precisely 8:00AM

I will be on the phone with my Dr office about the unfill. Keep your fingers crossed that they can take me asap!

I hope that you all have a great evening! And remember what Judy always says...

Hi girlz! Thank you all for your encouragement. DH and I did end up driving to Louisiana last night, enjoyed a little gambling (NO, we didn't win), then went dancing at the greatest Zydeco club!! It was so great! We both lived there when we were younger, so in a way it's like going home. Cajuns are such great people...so friendly...and talk about Party Animals!! OMG. Anyway, it was good for us to get away. The kids are back at their dad's for 3 weeks so that will help repair our relationship too. They are great kids, but as with all step families, there are issues that never seem to go away.

So yesterday I worked out at the gym for 2 hours, then went dancing for 2 hours last night and sweated my tail off....so I'm counting 3 workouts! :)

On our way home we stopped at the sports store and picked up 2 racquetball rackets. DH has never played and I haven't played since about 1990!! But what a hoot that game is and I think we'll enjoy hitting the ball around every once in a while. Gives me another way to mix up my cardio. We're on our way out the door in just a few. Hope I can walk tomorrow.

TracyK - I am having a very hard time with food, too. I am also considering an unfill but no way I can get down to his office next week....so I'll have to limp along for awhile. Remind me....how long have you been feeling this way? And did you try fluids for a day or two? Ugh. This IS getting old....especially when I don't appear to be losing any weight!!! Grrrrrrrr.

Later, gators.

PS - KAT - I agree with Judy .... your post about Kinsey made my day. Prayer works, eh?! I'm so happy!!!!

OMG...now you are talking!! I love going to visit my friends (and the casino) in LA. Those folks do not need a reason to have fun, they just do. I have so many cajun friends, actually, all of them are cajun. Such a great place to go and either have fun or just sit back and enjoy te peace & quiet. I wish we lived there...

Grrrrrrrr.

Try fluids for a day or 2? That is an understatement!! I had this fill on June 26th and I promise you I have only had solid food one time that I did not PB....ONE TIME!! Any other time I dared to try solid food, it came back to haunt me. So, I have been living on yogurt, oatmeal, Soup and slimfast since the 26th of June...oh and the occasional 1/2 c. ice cream. I felt like I deserved it after not being able to eat anything "real". Granted, I have lost 5 or pounds since then, but I know that I can not do this to myself! This is not the way it should be...or at least I hope not. But, by reading the posts, it seems that others are able to eat some solids, ad I can't...not matter how much I chew, how tender the meat is, no fish, no cheese, no nothing. Get ready for this one...I can not even drink Slim-Fast without my chest constricting!! That was the dead give away for me! So, even though I am only at .9 I am going to get an unfill to probably .5 Heck, I had pretty good restriction with just the band itself if it comes down to it. And you are at 2.0? And some others have even more than that...that just blows my little mind!!:):faint:So, like I said before, I will just have to use some self descipline if I am unfilled to much...but I will have to think about it long & hard before i get another fill!!

Sorry for the 200 word essay:rolleyes

Hey all -

I just got in from a day in the sun.. ok not much sun which was ok because then I didn't miss laying in it, but I swam all day and did about 40 mins of Water aerobics while in there on top of swimming with the kids and friends. I actually ate 1/2 turkey burger earlier and 1/2 tonight, so I ate an entire burger today.

I made zucunni quiche earlier and cut it into small slivers so I can have it for Breakfast on the go - approx 200 cals each slice and high in Protein, much better than the cheese stick I was eating.

I had company today, made mac salad and didn't eat a bite, had real burgers and hot dogs... nothing! although the thought of eating scares me which helped. got all 80 oz of water in... lets hope tomorrow the scale either goes down or stays at 224, i'm still a lb less LOL

Anyway, I'm starting to feel like I have things under control, I thank my fill for that !

I got a fill in early June, and really felt like I just could not eat or drink. Was really having problems, then I got used to it or it loosened a bit or something. Now in the past few days I feel like I am hungry ALOT!!! I still have to chew my food well, but I can eat much more now. I find that I am trying to be sooo careful because I really want to lose 100 pounds by august 17!! So moral of the story, is when I got in in a week and a half for her to remove my drain tube (hopefully, although it doesn't bother me at all) I think I am going to ask her if she has time for a itty bitty fill!!

I guess as you lose weight you lose some fat from around your stomach that makes the band looser or do you think that some of it just goes away??

Jane

Jane, Yes, with some people the fill does just go away. My doc compared it to helium leaving a balloon. There's no 'leak' in the balloon, but the helium escapes anyway. That is why he filled my band with Omnipaque instead of saline on my second fill. It's a type of Fluid that is thicker and doesn't escape the band as easily.

TracyK - Yeah, it definitely sounds as though you are way too tight. I didn't realize you had been on fluids ONLY since your fill! Tonight I was able to get some fish and green Beans down. Earlier I had a Protein Bar. Maybe things are better. I hate to get an unfill so quickly without really giving it time to settle first, so I'll give it another week.

Judy: that is one cool bike.... I've never seen anything like it... can you post a link

Janie: HOLY SMOKES your weight loss is simply amazing!

Terry: Glad you and DH had a night out.

TracyK: Small unfill.. I would definately say... you must be one of those lucky ones (like Jenn) that has natural restriction... because here I am at 2.75cc and although restricted I can eat.

Speaking of my restriction... tomorrow is one week since fill number 2 and I'm happy to say that I still have quick fullness.

I marinated boneless chicken breasts overnight and baked them on foil in the oven for dinner and they were so most and delish! I am really really really hoping the scale is nice to me tomorrow paying me back for being good....... I will admit though both yesterday and today (early afternoon) I have indulged in a dt. dr pepper float... (homeade, in a small glass) but this is nothing compared to the crap I have been eating... this last fill has really cut down on the AMOUNT of everything I eat and that in itself has got to help... RIGHT ............

gnight!

Hi all----well I have wonderful news....and not so wonderful news....but it is not terrible news!!! LOL---ok enough lead in! Kinsey is coming home tomorrow! She has eaten, and pooped, and that is what they were waiting for! The intestine is all alive, and functioning---Thank You God! What a relief! She is down about 4-5 pounds, which is not good, she is now skinny, not just small---but we will work on getting it back on her.

The not so good news----Rick has it. I believe he caught it from me. It took about the same length of time for me to catch it from the girlie, and then him from me. It was a scary afternoon, with him throwing up. I kept a phone with me every second, ready to dial 911. But he never had any blood, and he has gotten past the worst of the nausea. Luckily for the rest of us, it was about a 24 hour bug---vicous for the duration though! He is still dealing with the other bathroom issues, and some fever, and headache....but the throwing up was the thing we most feared, and he survived it without issue. He is in bed sleeping it off now. The rest of us have moved past it now....hope this bug is finished with my family now!!

I had a NSV today that I NEVER would have expected. I have neighbors to the south, that are super snobby!!! They are quite well off, and have always looked down their noses at me! I never let it get to me, I blow them off. It isn't just me, the rest of the neighborhood---we all get together and we all visit, but the 2 to my south, are very snooty. They both are successful local business owners. Well today I run into the couple that lives right next door in the store, while I was buying 7-up etc. for Rick. And this perfectly groomed, prissy never bigger than a size 6 neighbor tells me "Well I didn't even recognize you, you've gotten so slim". And she went on to chat with me, like we were real neighbors---I guess my large size offended her or something.....???? Not caring that she spoke---but she called me SLIM!!!!!! Had to laugh, because Rick has been jokingly referring to me as Slim.

I am bouncing 2 pounds again.....they come off, they return....so will be seriously joining the exercise challenge on Tuesday. Tomorrow will be another crazy day I imagine, getting Kinsey out of the hospital, and to ortho to get her cast off....and at some point my DD needs to go and be at her new job!!!! So I am shooting for Tuesday.....maybe I should actually go get on the eliptical, and start NOW!!!!

Well....I am going to go check on my email----it should be nice and full!!

Hope all went well for Laura. Terry, glad you guys got to go spend some time having fun. It really does help. I enjoyed last night so much, we laughed and talked, seemed like we had not connected in days.

Gotta tell you what a wonderful friend I have. She had to leave while Kinsey was in the hospital to go to TX to a family reunion, and we talked on the phone, so she knew I had been sick as well, and at the hospital all the time. She bought me a Merry Maid visit, to do some things I was complaining about needing to do. Someone opened a pop and splattered my windows in the back, during the luau I think, so she is having all my windows cleaned! And they are going to clean all my light fixtures! Sounds silly, but I have some that are pretty intricate....I never even knew they would do that! I wanted to do them before the party but never got it done. They will do it Tuesday! FUN!!!!

Ok---I am off, need to check on DH----talk to you all tomorrow!!!!

Hugs-

Kat

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
