YOU LOOK FANTASTIC!!!!!!!! I am so proud of you, keep up the great work..

and for the Water, well - it was always a problem for me so I had spend the month prior to brainwashing myself to drink drink drink, and now I don't even think about it.

NOW, if I could just start loosing again. all will be good. I am going to take my 1 month photo today too, but don't know how to get it to size it so it will fit on here. Can someone help me so I will know what size to make it? Is it something I can do in my camera or when I transfer it to my computer?

Tracy that's a great pic of you and dbf :youcandothis:

Onto the wedding, last night we called family and double checked our guest list so we have a good estimate of how many people will be there.. we're at about 150, and I think about 120 will come. (It's really weird that 20 people on that list I've never heard of.. his parent's friends.. I guess this is what weddings are about!!) We called the people we want to be bride's maids and best men, etc.. and formally invited them (none of our good friends live here, so it's a big commitment if they want to come visit in Alabama or not) Not surprisingly, they were all so excited and said they would be there with bells on.. which is a good thing since I'm doing a Christmas theme!!!

Lunasa- I'm doing the same thing, I have cutouts of things I liked taped into a notebook so I can reference them.. and I've been making lists and checklists, and all that fun stuff. E-mail your pics to me (I'll PM you my e-mail address).

I don't know about a wedding coordinator, I was looking into it, but 1. I don't want to pay someone to do something I feel capable of doing 2. I don't see myself as a Bridezilla type, but if I had another woman (and all the ones I've seen are women), besides my mom putting input onto something I say I may or may not want, I'm likely to go ballistic.

So far, so good.. we're going tonight to look at the Annabella, if it's big enough and I like the set up, we're going to put the deposit down.. if it's not, then I'm back to anxiety attacks.

Have a great day violets :D

ohhh those pics are pretty, how did you get it purple???

Oh my next problem is, how do you figure out what to do DURING the wedding. We've gone to several in the past year, and everyone does something different.. where is like a 'list' of what you can do at the wedding??

Like one of our friends were catholics so they did something about praising Mary, and then flowers to the mothers (i cant find info on this), and then another one they did unity candles, etc..

I'm christian, fiance is not religious, so we're having it in a neutral place with a minister marrying us...how do I know say--i know praising mary or whatever that was, was catholic exclusive, so how do I know if something isn't religion specific. I.e. I think I want to do unity candles, is that something only catholics do? Anyone know a good website that has information on different ceremony things you can do?

First thing you should do is check the setting on your camera. You want to take the picture in a "small" format with a "low" resolution. Most people make the mistake of setting their cameras on "large" and "high"....thinking that this will improve the picture quality. Actually, all it does is make it HUGE!! The small, medium and large format determines the actual optimum size of the photo...so if you have it set to 'large', it will make it poster size!! :youcandothis: The resolution can be set to low or medium. Low is fine for computer screen display. Medium or Fine should be used for printing onto photo paper.

However, if a photo is sized large already (like Lunasa's were for instance), I copy them into PowerPoint and edit them there since that is the program I use most often and am most familiar with. In PPT I go to "format picture", 'compress' the photo then manually resize it using the click and drag method.

So, that's how I do it. There's probably a hundred different ways to skin that cat.

Yeah, I use photoshop to shrink them down. You put in the size you want when you open a new document (and I can put 4x6 for example), paste the picture in there and resize to fit. Voila!

You can even do it on paintshop (since most people have this)..

open it in paintshop, on the top click on "Image"---> Stretch/Skew---> and normally if it's huge from a camera, making it stretch 50x50 works good. Then drag the bottom white part up to the picture so it's not just a picture on a white background. Save as--

And you're done :youcandothis:

Laura

My mom is a member of Unity, I'll ask her about the candles and website.

You can create your own tradition.... I was raised catholic (moms choice - and see where she is now) but recently - after dbf's motorcycle accident - have started converting over to being christian. My dad's doing, and southern roots. So as you can see I am totally confused but non tradition is what i'm all about

Anyway, I'll let you know what I can find out.

Alternative Wedding Services - Cultural Traditions check this out, gives some nice ideas from other cultures. I thought the Dutch traditions was nice but lots of good ideas

Laura..

My DH is a minister so I know a little bit about wedding ceremonies! Do you have a minister picked out?? That would be important, cause if he's/she's worth squat, he'll/she'll have a couple of meetings with you to talk about marriage issues and the ceremony. I'd work on that detail before you get too involved in planning. He/she can certainly help you with the details of the ceremony. BTW unity candles can definitely be used if that's what you wish.

Hi Violets! I've got alot of back reading to do, I've been so busy these past few days. Getting the yard ready, trying to get my exercise in, planning for Mother's Day. Mother's Day is huge at my house. My mom has 9 sisters so we always have a huge party for all the moms in the family. I've got two sisters and it's usually me and my sisters that do all the planning since we are the oldest children in the family. All the other kids are in their teens... We planned a great party everyone went home happy!

I've been doing good so far. Haven't lost a single fricking fracken pound but other than that I'm feeling good. My clothes that I wear are feeling loose but I have not had to go down a size yet. I've got a pair of size 24 jeans that I wanted to be in for this weekend but it doesn't look like I will be fitting into them yet. I'm going to Chicago at the end of this week for a long four day weekend with my two sisters and my mom. It's our Mother's Day gift to her. Wish me willpower!!

I've been staying under my recommended calories each day. Between 1000-1200 per day. Never would have been satisfied with that in the past, pre-band, so that is encouraging. The only thing I'm having a problem with is knowing when I'm full. I really can't tell. So for now I pre-measure my serving and only consume what I have on my plate. Maybe in the future I'll be able to just get a plate of food and stop when my body says stop. But I think that that comes later. I don't get hungry hungry during the day but my intestines do rumble occasionnally. And I'm still experiencing head hunger. I wonder if I will ever overcome that? I still catch myself looking for something to eat just because I'm bored or because I'm gonna sit and watch my show. But I'm not actually HUNGRY.

Has anyone tried any recipes from the Body for Life cookbook? I love to cook but unfortunately my cooking always has tons of butter, fat and is generally unhealthy. So I'm looking for delicious, healthy recipes.

Okay, I'm gonna catch up on the posts tonight and try to post again later.

Bye all! Have a good rest of your day...

laura...I know what you mean, but believe me, getting someone to help decorate your venue will take a lot of stress from you.

Yes they can be expensive, but wedding venues have to be decorated the night before or day of your wedding...can you imagine yourself up a ladder 24hrs before walking down the aisle?

I found my girl at a wedding fair, she had her stall set up with the fairy lights, flowers candles & ivy & I saw it a mile away, it was beautiful. I knew when I saw how she presented her work that she was the one for the job!! The florist was amazing, she adopted my & DH & done an AMAZING job...our whole town was talking about the flowers in the church for weeks!! LOL, you could smell them from out side!!

As I said before though weddings in IRELAND are VERY different than those you guys have and a typical wedding goes something like this

1.30pm...Church cermony (I highly reccomend having a choir and pick your own songs & Readings) We're catholic

2.30pm...Everyone goes to the "local" for a drink or two while the wedding party get photos

4-5pm...Everyone arrives at the reception venue for more cocktails & canape's and a general mingle. More Photos

6pm..everyone is called for dinner & when seated the bride & groom are announced & seated last

6-9pm...Dinner & speeches & more drink

9-9.30..everyone gets up to move around while the room is cleared for dancing.

9.30-10pm..The band start & continue until 12.30pm where either another band or a DJ takes over..music til 2am!!!

2am...some people go home but most go to the residents bar and have been known to party until Breakfast (this was the case at every wedding I've ever been to!!)

Breakfast..A lot of sick people skip this part.

And by lunchtime we all meet up again to spend the rest of the day seeing the bride & groom off and curing ourselves with a hair of the dog...this has also been known to last until the following Breakfast time!

Our wedding was on a Friday...we partied with everyone until Sunday before flying off into the sunset. Most guests also returned home on the Sunday but our wedding party continued celebrating until the following Wednesday!!

I love Weddings!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
