Ok.. so I just posted a new thread... APRIL 2007 SHRINKIN' VIOLETS!!

Then I'm smacking myself in the forehead and thinking.. why did we have to do that? We could just as easily continue the April 2007 thread. Oh well. It's there if we want it or we can just stay here..

Good Afternoon everyone

I was banded on 4/24/07 - not doing too bad - just have to get things moving

First day back to work - wasn't too bad - left at 11:00 am - glad i'm only half days this week.

Real glad to see this board - I had a hysterectomy in 2000 and the board hystersisters was an invaluable tool to help me along.

Look forward to chatting with the April bandsters.

Elaine

Judy - you can ask a moderator to delete the thread if you want...or we can ask to lock this one up....otherwise we'll have to visit two places to catch up on everything!:)

Welcome to Bandland, Elaine!! Glad to hear your surgery went well and it sounds like your recovery has been pretty uneventful. That's what we like to hear!!

I just sent a message and asked a moderator to delete my new thread. Then if Tracy can add our nick name to the title, I think we'll be all set.. right?? RIGHT?????:help:

I dunno... can you change a title of a thread?? Maybe a moderator can.

You're just in a smackin' mood, arent you?

I think if you use the advanced feature to edit, you can. I edited the title of the new thread I started. Changed my mind a couple of times on how I wanted it worded. Now ,hopefully, it's gone or soon will be.

Hi all... wow, I'm off the 'puter for 2 days and have pages & pages to catch up on!

Everyone sounds good! It's all a bit of a blur as I just speed-read the last 5 pages! lol!

Suggestion for new thread title: Shrinking Violets May 2007 -- cuz we'll know it's us by the name + it'll be our thread for May... then in June it'll be Shrinking Violets June 2007, etc. & so forth. Yes?

Tomorrow is my 1-week pre-pre-op diet weigh-in day! 1 week of serious lc down, 1 to go! Then it's 1 more (sort of)... then 2 liquid... then the Band! So 1 down, 4 to go. Then I"ll be able to talk about my stitches popping & BMs, etc... yippee!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
