Laura, Im so pleased your ok, I must say it must have been a very scary time what you went through the other day, I hope each day gets better and better now!

Jennifur, well done on stayin away from the BBQ party w/k. W/K are definately harder to get through.

Well Ive done x 2 lots of exercise this w/k, and in total (its been 3 weeks today since I had the band!) Ive lost 17lbs......I think I might have to get my hubbie to get rid of my scales though, as this week (wrong time of the month) they have fluctuated by 5lbs :embarassed: ....I need to get rid of the darn things!

Wish me luck folks, Im dreading this week.....Im off to a 2 day training workshop near London with the company I work for, I didnt tel that many folks from work about my op, but word did get out...gawd...I know Im going to face a million questions about the surgery, and the sort of food they serve for lunch I wont be able to eat, so Im taking some Soup for the hotel to heat up (LOL) and Im going to avoid the bar where the booze-a-floweth.....:straight

Loves ya all xxxxxxxx

Good morning all,

FIRST Good luck to all you Monday Banders!

Laure- you are cute, I had to post that pic because I hated it so much and it was a huge step for me

I'm off to school, had a horrible night - right after I fell asleep my cat came rippin' through my room after a mouse! Woke me up out of a sound sleep, which when I jumped up felt hurt myself, not too bad, I just think my stitches are drying because they burned like they were dry.

Needless to say, called my exterminator (which is obviously not doing their job) and screamed on their voice mail - and then couldn't sleep great as I was afraid I was going to have more upstairs in my room.

Pamela & Laura -- Thanks for posting your pics. It is so wonderful to be able to connect a face with the name!! LIke Sara said, I canNOT wait to see what we all look like in a year! Let's pinkie swear that we'll stay together for at least that long!! Laura - you look like you could be a model...you are stunning! Ah, youth!

I had a good mushie meal last night...after being so tired of my usual ones already. Night before I had actually COOKED for my family and had leftover pot roast & mashed potatoes. I was dying for some roast so I chopped it up in the bullet, added that and a little gravy to some mashed potatoes, sprinkled a bit of cheese on top and nuked it. OMG, I was in heaven just having something besides soup!!!

scales - I wish I could hide the darn thing but I've tried that before. I'm just way too compulsive about it and can't do it. I weigh 2x a day, morning and night. Always will. but that's ok..I'm staying right at 202-204 right now, but I'm exercising to the tune of about 300 cals/day and eating about 900. The weight WILL come off eventually. (right?)

Have a great day all!

OMG, that's precisely why I didn't tell anyone at work, even though some are my very best friends. Thank you for confirming my decision!! I just couldn't handle that. Yuck.

Well I cant believe that I am almost there! I am being banded tomorrow.

I am very nervous but excited. I have a touch of a head cold. Does anyone know if that will be a problem?

I got a nasal spray from the chemist and that seems to have cleared it a bit.

Anyway, I will be in touch after, when I can. Thanks for all your support, I know I dont post much but I read ALL the posts and have got much support from them.

Hi everyone,

Terri-I am so in for the pinkie swear. It is weird how much I share w/ my LBT family, that few who "know" me really know. Thanks for always being here.

Tracy- DEEP BREATHS...DEEP BREATHS...A few days before I just "gave in". I knew everything was taken care of. I told myself, "stop thinking about it and just show up." It really helped. I am excited for you...this has been a long road...your pot of gold awaits:clap2: .

Laura and Jennifer- hope your feeling much better. The official second week was wonderful! When do you have to go back to work Laura? Jennifer, good luck w/ the job search!

Everyone getting banded this week...YEAH!!! You'll do fine and know we are all in there and on here with you! Post when you can.

Judy- Congrats on moving forward!!! It is so wonderful as we move towards real food. Check out the food thread for receipes (that is not spelled right).

Have a great day everyone!!!!!

Wow... I'm off of the boards for a few hectic days and I missed about 4 pages of posts.... and alot of new people. Welcome and good luck to all being banded soon and congrats to all who were recently banded.

Well, I had my 2 week post operation check up last wednesday... He graduated me to soft foods....yahoo!!!! I am cleared for all exercises... and walla! 32 pounds off. I can not believe it. Do you know how long it took me to loose 32 pounds on slim fast? I am struggling with drinking enough, a problem I never had during happy hour, but take away the beer and I feel like I never stop drinking Water and crystal light, yet I'm dehidrated. Oh well, we ordered chinese last night and I ordered a pint of steamed chicken and veggies... both on the soft list. I have over 3/4 of it left... that's crazy... I was good for a full combo meal, dumplings and an egg role. Then again, that's what got me to this point.

Terry: the weight will come off, patients, and persistance. You're doing great.

Tracey- Three days will be here before you know. Just think, this weekend you'll be a bandster.

- Mr. Pat

Good morning & best wishes to all who are being banded this week! :)

I love seeing all the pictures! Everyone is so beautiful already -- can't imagine how amazing we'll all look in a year! If I can figure out how to post a pic, I will, but don't hold your breath! lol!

Ok... reality dawns TOMORROW. Tomorrow will be 5 weeks 'til my surgery on 5/29 and 2 weeks 'til my pre-op appointment w/my surgeon. I must admit that this weekend has been a "last supper" weekend for me... I told myself that I could eat anything I wanted through tonight, but tomorrow morning it's ON -- proper lc band eating for the rest of my life! I won't titillate you w/the odd combos of bad food that I've indulged in... suffice it to say, I haven't left any old favs out. And yes, I do realize that I will be able to eat most of these things again, but I feel like it won't be the same (the same way that got me up to 317 -- duh! -- how stupid AM I?)... anyway, I'm just being honest w/myself & you guys. BUT on a good note, I have ordered the "proteins trial pack" from bariatriceating.com, + the unjury trial pack, + purchased 1 each of the Isopure drinks... so will use the pre-op time to test & tweak & prepare for post-op life. I am planning on following a high pro, low carb basic, some may say austere, program... + add in exercise... to jump start the weight loss & keep up the motivation. On that note...

Tracy... what was your pre-op plan you were following again?... mostly liquid Protein w/tuna or an egg each day? Can you refresh me on that?

Thanks again for keeping rogue May bander me in w/all you fun April girlies... I really feel like I'm getting to know each of you and even talk about you in my real life -- you're all inspiring not just me but others as well! You rock!

OMG I must be feeling better, I am hungry today

anyone have any suggestions? I am still on clear liquids until Friday when I can go to the mushie stage. 4 more days of liquids... I don't know if i'll survive, it was ok when I was swollen and the thought of food made me sick.

I would love some cream soup!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Jenn,

3 words for you...

Egg Drop Soup- Minus the egg. OK 6 words.

Get a quart and run it through a strainer. It's thicker and different.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
