keefkeef1986 32 Posted January 18, 2013 Im at a plateau and feeling like i might be outting my body into starvation mode. I was told to take in 1500 calories max a day by nutritionist to lose pre surgery weight. I am eating between 1200 and 1500. Working out 5 days a week doing cardio for an hour and burning between 800 to 900 calories accordin to the machines. I am left at the end if the day with bet calories between 300 and 600. I am only drinking Water and didnt lose any weight last week. Told nutritionist this and she said not to eat my exercise calories. Getting very frustrated..... Am i doing donething wrong? Lovelycurves 94 Posted January 18, 2013 My doc said you have to burn as many calories you are taking in. So if you're eating 1500 calories a day you should be burning 1500 calories a day. He also said it takes some people to eat only 600 to 800 calories a day before they will lose any weight. And he is a health freak, and eats grass all day (lol inside joke me and my mom have) but he works out and is in great shape . I eat about 900 calories a day and have lost 13lbs doing this in a month. And I exercise about 45mins. So what he says is right for me.
Wendilou 180 Posted January 18, 2013 If I eat 1200 or more calories a day, my weight loss is very very slow to nil. My doctor recommended 1000 cal a day, which seems to work much better. You might want to try going down for a few days to see if that helps.
douchewafflebear 160 Posted January 19, 2013 What medication are you on? How old are you? How much sleep are you getting? Have you been doing weight training - if so what kind, how much? Are you under stress? Blah blah blah there are millions of factors that could be helping or hurting you - and if this was simple I'd look like Claudia shiffer - give yourself credit for how hard your working and relax - put the scale away and relax 2 kristy3k and litlsisred reacted to this

nienie 113 Posted January 19, 2013 Try increasing Protein and decreasing carbs. This is the only thing that helped me and it will prepare you for the way you will eat after the program. I basically followed Atkins and did lose some, however with my insulin resistance and PCOS I just get stuck. The other thing to think about is what medications do you take daily. Sometimes NSAIDS will make you retain Water and hold onto weight. With the amount of exercise you are doing you should see something. Are you also measuring yourself??
