Ok got someone to block out 2 weeks for me. All depends on when I get to have the surgery of course.

She asked me what I was doing and I told her I was having surgery. She asked me for what and I simply told her that only my husband and dad know- then she hugged me...... My room knows I will be soon starting a new way of eating, I just told them low carb an high Protein. I usually eat lunch in the lunch room with my girls, ill just drink shakes and such now instead of big bowls of salad or hot lunch!

My surgery was on a thursday, came home saturday (was ready to go home friday, but because I lived 3 hours from surgeon, he chose to keep me an extra day). Monday I was picking up my, then 20 month old, baby and by Wednesday was driving my other 2 girls to school. I didn't bring laundry baskets up from the basement for another 10 days, but that was mostly because I was milking it for as much help from the hubby as I could get! LOL I think you'll be fine if you can get them to schedule on a friday, my surgeon did monday, wednesday or thursday surgeries.

Good Luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
