lisaarellano 20 Posted January 14, 2013 Hello all, I would like to know how you told your younger children. I have a 25 and 18 year old that I can tell no problem. I am nervous about telling my 6 and 10 year old girls. They of course will notice I'm not home for a few days and when I return home I will be sore. What did you tell your kids and when? A day before surgery, a week, two weeks????
Kris Cheek 13 Posted January 14, 2013 I had my LabBand in 2008, my kids were 9 and 10. I told them once the surgery ws scheduled and explained the benefits. They were so excited to have a healthier me that the morning of the surgery they kissed me and said by old mommy and I can't wait to meet new mommy. Now the RNY is riskier but I still would have told them right away. It gives them time to think of questions and time for you to answer and reassure them. Good luck!! and Congrats!!! ready2smile 138 Posted January 18, 2013 I waited until last minute. I didn't want them to stress about it so I downplayed it.
