Not sure I will feel after wls, but I am a pretty heavy coffee drinker-a pot a day.

How much creamer do you use?

I began Decaf the week before surgery-it was very hard. I only drank about 1c a day, but I'm a creamer lover. I had tried the sugar free-found it gross. Just bought the fat free for later and hope it will taste better and be ok on my tummy. I had decaf for the 1st time since starting my pre-op liquids on Tuesday. I put a singles packet in my chocolate Protein shake today, it was yummy although I only drank about 4oz. Wish they made the coconut creamer in fat free...

I don't really do coffee anymore but the two times so far that I needed the taste or the warmth I had Decaf and used soy creamer. The one from Trader Joe's is not bad. I saw that Silk brand has a few flavors out for Creamers now too.

I started Decaf about a month out with Splenda and SF coffee mate creamer. I can drink about half a cup.

I use Decaf Click Protein mixed with one cup decaf coffee and a splash if sugar free Torani Syrup as my Breakfast every morning. Before surgery I the only thing I would have in the mornings were coffee and its helped me feel "normal" post op :-)

I had coffee today with skim plus milk. Is caffinated coffee ok to drink? Most surgeons say no, but I'm "cheating" and having a cup today because I need the caffeine and I miss it terribly. I will only have 1 a day.

I just picked up coffee again about 2 months ago. I add one scoop of my chocolate Protein Powder to it and that is my breakfast in the morning.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
