mightyschratt 30 Posted January 13, 2013 My personal physician has been monitoring my weight now for years, and has been instructing me toward better eating habits/diets. Now for my question, is this the same as a doctor supervised weight loss? I know that most insurance companies require 6 months of this, and I am curious if my long hard years of trial and error are enough proof.
SoccerMomma73 1,867 Posted January 13, 2013 Depends on many things...typically (but not always) the 6 month supervised diet requires monthly weigh ins and that your doc document that he discussed diet and exercise with you at that time. Some insurance companies just want documentation that you've had a long standing weight problem and that you have discussed it with a medical professional who provided Some type of counseling on weight loss. Good luck!!!!
