I have the Nuva ring. I've been on it or years and love it. With that said, I would be careful with birth control after surgery. I've seen lots of posts about ladies getting pregnant (not intending to) because we become more fertile with weight loss, so just be careful! Good luck!

I loved Depo....but I wouldn't recommend it if you want more children in the future...it just takes a little while to get regular again..

Yea my doctor warned me about how fertile I would become and eventually I do want kids but I also want to wait until I'm in the safe zone.

I have the implanon in my arm.....it is good for 3 years. I didn't have a period for 1year up until I had surgery and I bled for 6 weeks after. .....I suppose it was from all the hormonal changes. I am period free once again and love my implanon!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
