I don't even have a surgery date yet but I figured it couldnt hurt to start now. So I started January 1st. I don't know if it will work but oh well it's worth a try.

What is Biotin?

It's supposed to help hair grow and strengthen nails. I've been reading a lot about after rny surgery your hair can start to fall out but I don't know if Biotin actually works.

Your hair is going to fall out regardless....it's from rapid weight loss, changes in the body and all that fun stuff. I've always had Hair loss due to anemia so I have been on Biotin for years and it doesnt help. Only thing that really helps I hear is taking all your Vitamins and protein!

My doctor (and the all knowing internet) told me that your hair will fall out regardless around the 3 month mark. However, the Biotin will help your hair look healthier and he recommended using volumizing Shampoo. I started the Biotin right after surgery. I haven't lost any hair yet, but there's a definite improvement in how it looks and it's growing faster. Side bonus, my nails look fab, too!
