Dr. Roberto Rumbaut, Monterrey, Mexico

Recommended Posts

That said, I do think he did a fine job on my surgery and I would recommend him. He did my band back in Sept 2001.

Hi. I'm considering having surgery with Dr. Rumbaut. Would you really recommend him? Do you mind if I ask why you were disbanded? Was it something the doctor did wrong with the surgery?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

Melissa

I'm scheduled May 8 (I have a Hawaiian vacation planned in between) for banding in Monterrey, Mexico. Can anyone tell me about their experience with Dr. Rumbaut?

Hi. I'm new to this forum. I'm considering going to Mexico for the lap-band with Dr. Rumbaut. Just saw your post. Did you have the surgery on May 8th? How did it go? Would you recommend this doctor?

Thanks in advance for your responses,

Melissah

I am going April 1. Two of my friends have been banded in Mexico with Dr. Rambaut. They both are doing great. I have completed my online questionair and will Pay my deposit two weeks before I fly outta here. I think this forum is a wonderful place to learn information for yourself.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
