KCItalianGirl 24 Posted January 12, 2013 New to this site. Excited that I have completed surgery part and on the mend. Pain lessens with every passing day, but still on pain meds and some discomfort. I have no problems getting liquids and Protein in. Are other people experiencing the same? I'm trying not to over drink, eat, etc....can't feel my "soft spot" yet. BBdoodle 483 Posted January 12, 2013 I had no problems getting my Protein in and for the most part I got my fluids in too !! As long as you get your protein and fluids in you should be OK. My surgeon required me to get 64 grams of protein and 64 oz. of Water daily. I always sipped, sipped, sipped all day/night. It would take me all day/night to get the fluids in but i did it. Consider youself lucky that you can get the required amount in, you will feel better quicker and get back to normal. I was back to work in one week I followed my surgeons instructions exactly and had no problems what so ever.
Nicole K 352 Posted January 12, 2013 My surgeon said to focus on staying hydrated and we could work on getting Protein at 70g over the next few weeks. Looks like your doing just fine! I'm almost a month out and I'm just making my protein goals. DOS 12/17/
KCItalianGirl 24 Posted January 13, 2013 That's encouragement that all is OK. After reading several posts of negative things, not being able to eat, drink, throwing up, etc I'm feeling more positive about ME. I'm following my guidelines to a T and not doing anything different. Hope you both have a great Sunday. Looking forward to my follow up visit tomorrow. 1 kristy3k reacted to this
