Just remember' date=' if your full, you do NOT have to finish it all. We are so used to needing to finish what's on our plates. Do measure but its okay not to finish. It's a new thing to get used to. Good luck.

You know what gets me... Yes I know, stop when you're full, but how do you ever know if you're getting enough Protein?

Made buffalo chicken tenders . Found the recipe on the Hurley medical center website when I was googling gastric bypass friendly recipes. Had 34 g of Protein per piece and I could eat about 1/4. Easy to make and really good. My focus now has been recipes the whole family can eat. That's pouch friendly

Hubby got me a cup of broccoli and cheese Soup, only had 4 spoons of it till i felt full. Also had mrs vickis vinegar and sea salt chips. Ate about 10 of them. Stuffed now. I am having problems with the Protein Shakes. Just about any of them. The smell nauseates me. Mostly have used Unjury. Got muscle milk light that says no milk. Well it still cramps my stomach. When can we have salad i miss salads,

I'm a single mom to although a 16 yr old. I suggest simple dinners for your son. Your senses will be off and you might not be able to stand some smells. The real non processed breast chicken fingers. Soups, grilled cheese (for him) tuna or chicken salad sandwiches if he likes them. Individual pizzas like the Digiornos. Something that is easy for u to make. Does he like shrimp poppers, sandwiches w veggies. Many good skillet meals for him out there. But much of my suggestions, you can't have :-( Sorry I couldn't come up with more the two of you can eat together. I guess what you could do is getting him to a Protein based diet that way when you're on regular food again about a month out, it will be easier.

Oh no, short term we're good, I've got all kinds of quickie stuff in the freezer ready to roll little effort from me (honestly I could give him Cereal every night and he'd be thrilled!!). I'm thinking down the road once I'm back on regular-ish foods. Thanks for the ideas though!

Ingredients:

1/4 cup hot sauce

1/2 cup low fat buttermilk

1 1/2 lb chicken tenders

2 egg whites

1/4 cup whole wheat flour

1/2 cup whole wheat bread crumbs

1 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper, or to taste

1/8 tsp black pepper

Directions:

1.Preheat oven to 400°. Place a wire rack on a rimmed baking sheet.

2.In a small bowl, whisk together hot sauce and buttermilk until combined. In a large shallow dish, arrange chicken tenders in one layer. Top with hot sauce mixture and toss to coat chicken evenly. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

3.In a shallow dish, whisk egg whites until frothy. In another shallow bowl, combine flour, bread crumbs, paprika, cayenne and black pepper.

4.Dip chicken tenders in egg whites, then roll in bread crumb mixture to coat evenly, shaking off the excess. Arrange coated chicken tenders on wire rack on baking sheet. Lightly spray with canola oil cooking spray.

5.Bake for approximately 15 minutes, turning halfway through cooking, or until juices run clear. Serve immediately.

I had steak, yes steak to see if I could and yes, I can! I ate about 1/2 with mushrooms and I feel fine, I thought I'd be vomiting or feeling over stuffed but to my surprise, I'm good.... Is that normal??

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
