So I'm sitting I'm sitting here waiting for my psychological evaluation to begin. I was so stressed out about this that I arrive at the office 2 hours early. This is nuts. I can't believe I got mixed up that way. I guess I'm just glad it wasn't 2 hours later because then I would have had to reschedule and probably postpone the process. This is driving me nuts lol. I just hope that I don't find out I'm crazy lol just venting thanks for reading. I will update you guys after the psychological evaluation :)

Today was my second psych appt of four. I took the mmpi which is a 575 question personality test. I answered honestly for the most part. Its nerve wrecking not knowing the results. Next week I go back for the qpi (some other test) and the week after I go back to talk about my results. Didn't know it took four appointmenrs for this. My patient advocate said all psychs are different. I just wanna know my results already!!!! Come on give me the green light lol

Wow that sounds like a really thorough eval! I'll count my blessing that I only had to have one psych appt. Hopefully I pass it ;)

I actually wound up getting frustrated and fed up with the "psych" part of surgery. My psych wanted me to come 4 additional times. I went 2 more times and told him that it was a waste of my time and money and I felt like it was a racket scheme for RYN patients. They wanted me to come back after surgery, too, but I canceled that appointment right after surgery. At $177 each visit... No thank you!

Wow I hope I don't have 4 visits or 3, or 2. I have to drive 2.5 hrs for mine in a couple of weeks. I haven't even done it and I'm already annoyed with it. Lol

Jessica. can't wait to start this journey.

Psych is one thing I was scared of prior to surgery but it goes easy. They just want to make sure you habe someone to support you and that you are not anorexic, bulimic or a binge eater

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
