nienie 113 Posted March 1, 2013 I am having a down week this week. I don't know what is going on with me! I'm loosing slower than most people around my surgery group and that is messing with my mind. My husband is leaving at the en of this month for a 6 month deployment. I'm just emotionally all over the place and to top it off I'm on week 3 of my period. I just need some help pulling it all together. HW 265 DS 256 CW 229 Hang in there. I also had my period for almost three weeks on bcp and I was frustrated but it finally went away. Our bodies get so screwed up after surgery. My guess is the stress of your husband leaving isn't making matter worse. I have found that I pay no attention to what others are losing. I will be five weeks out and have lost around 30 pounds which is more then I would have been able to ever lose prior to surgery. Just remember slow and steady wins the race-lol. I also find measuring and just knowing that my clothes are fitting differently is huge. Keep your eye on the big prize (goal weight). Keep working your program your surgeon and his staff have designed and follow all instructions as much as you can you will do fine. Also spend as much quality fun time with hubby as you can before he leaves and think how much smaller you will be when he comes back... I have found when I am feeling down I put on some of my favorite music and clean and or organize something (ie drawer- junk). crazy but it gives me time to think. So do something that makes you happy. Hope your day gets better.... 2 ready2smile and Marla reacted to this
ready2smile 138 Posted March 2, 2013 Whew, I made it through my first week back to work...now that's an NSV as far as I'm concerned. By 1pm on Wednesday I wasn't sure I'd make it and was trying to decide if anyone would notice if I curled up the bench in my cubicle and tapped out for a bit, lol....but I persevered with the help of a friend texting me and reminding me to sip, walk, and sip some more-even when she got the flu and could barely eat or drink herself. I love the friends we make here! Encouragement is such a great thing. I also did well with my Protein and food intake by being well prepared and following some other suggestions from fellow "losers". Didn't see a big loss but I'll take my -1/2lb and be happy with it cause my attitude was much improved as well as how I felt in general. Thanks everyone for helping me make it through this week with a smile and a grateful heart. (My boss and co-workers thank you too, lol!) Have a wonderful, active, and healthy weekend! 1 feelin-lika-cow reacted to this
tsxo821 3 Posted March 2, 2013 Going on 5 weeks post-op and had my first experience throwing up yesterday at school! I ate grilled chicken either too fast' date=' or a bite or two more than I was supposed to. Omg. It felt stuck. I kept burping and had saluva. I tried to walk it off but 20 mins later threw up some foamy stuff and felt so much better. Yikes!![/quote'] That's what used to happen to me! It sucks. kparadisek 115 Posted March 2, 2013 We are surgery twins! I also had mine on the 10th! Great to hear you already did a costco and Target walk. Ill probably try that tomorrow bc simply doing laps in the house is getting boring. Totally with you on the gurgles gas feelings. Honestly that has been the most painful part' date=' still working through some of it. I've also found the gurgles come after big sips or eating. Anyone else have this same feeling? As for day 4, what a change!! Slept for nine full hours last night, and even rolled onto my stomach for most of it. That stomach binder was a godsend! Feeling pretty darn good for being cut into four days ago! If you haven't gone in yet just remember these recovery days are only temporary and totally worth it for a lifetime of improved health!![/quote'] What's a stomach binder and where can I get one? one4ozzie 434 Posted March 3, 2013 What's a stomach binder and where can I get one? It's basically like a girdle for your tummy area. It fits around you tummy area to hold it in. For example, Spanx (if you've heard of them). I lived in my spanx, cuz i already had them, 24 hrs a day You can get them at Walmart and I do recommend them it really helps w pain. The are in the undies, socks, etc section. Gen :-) 12/15/12 It has ribbing in it to help hold everything in and hopefully prevent it from rolling. I didn't use this though. I used my spanx as I said earlier. My spanx are much like a tank top. Below is my current spanx. Similar to a tank, holds up very well, However, $40-50, for one. the spanx are very durable. The others I have, 3 of them, I've had over 3 years and they still work perfectly. I wear my spanx all the time under my undergarments.

ready2smile 138 Posted March 6, 2013 Super happy-today I put my boots on and I didn't have to tug them together to zip them up, and once they were zipped they weren't stretched at the sides! Finally, my wide calves are getting smaller. Whoohoo for NSV's!! 3 one4ozzie, Wendilou and nienie reacted to this

nienie 113 Posted March 6, 2013 I ate thin crust pizza last night, I was a bad girl.... But it was good, could not help myself......not going to lose weight that way! Oh well, at least it was thin crust. We are all going to have foods that are not the best for us. The most important things to remember is moderation and after eating not so great foods make your next meal healthy. Even the healthiest of people cheat occasionally. The biggest thing is not to make a habit of it again... 1 one4ozzie reacted to this
