Frogjlr 57 Posted February 17, 2013 I'm 5 weeks post op. I haven't had any problems or gotten some till last night. I ate a small cucumber and it got stuck. Worst feeling, felt like crap, was going to go lay down, and thankfully I had a bag and got sick. Oh man that sucked. NEVER want to do that again. Just make sure you chew very well

lovealways 287 Posted February 17, 2013 Going on 5 weeks post-op and had my first experience throwing up yesterday at school! I ate grilled chicken either too fast, or a bite or two more than I was supposed to. Omg. It felt stuck. I kept burping and had saluva. I tried to walk it off but 20 mins later threw up some foamy stuff and felt so much better. Yikes!!

leanie 2 Posted February 17, 2013 Wow I am not alone. Thank god for this forum. It is saving me. Ok next question we are all just about or more then 5 weeks post op and everyone is in different stages of food textures. Why are done of you on full texture and some at purée or chopped. The doc has me ratting what ever I want as long as I can purée it. Not understanding why we are all so different.

jerz 251 Posted February 17, 2013 The foam vomit is the worst! Gross! Thanks for the papaya enzyme tip. I will be buying some ASAP. Wendy's chili is great for me. I've also discovered Fage yogurt which has 28 g of Protein per cup. I got it at Walmart. My surgeon doesn't do purée he takes you from liquids to soft food and slowly advance when u r ready. meats are still a problem for me, but chili it really sets good in my pouch no matter whether it is Breakfast, lunch or dinner. I am always worried about throwing up so if my stomach feel upset i just use sf peppermint or gum. All surgeon are different it depends on the technique used. I didn't have a drain tube or staples, just glue over my incision when I healed it fell off.
