Having GB surgery on February 11th. I'm really nervous about everything.

Hi I know how you feel I'm in the same boat. I had lap and put in 2 and a half years ago and have had nothing but problems with it. I've lost no weight at all and haven't been able to retain any food at any adjustment so they take everything out and start over again.

Anyway I've just been told that I need bypass surgery and I'm scared to have it.

Will it have the same effect on me as the band? Will the issues with the restrictions still exist? Will I lose weight?

I don't want this op until I have answers to all these questions.

We all go thru that stage and it is totally normal to be scared and nervous but all worth it :)

I hope everything will work out ok. This "dumping syndrome" has me very worried. I don't want to get sick.

      Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

        Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

      Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
