And officially on the losers bench. All went well' date=' a lot of adhesions to clear out and SURPRISE had a hiatal hernia that got repaired as well (no one knew I even had a hiatal hernia!!) Hitting my morphine pump on a regular basis, would kill for ice chips right now (10:00 tomorrow morning I get ice chips).

Will be heading out to walk for the first time in just a few minutes. I did end up with a JP drain and my catheter is still in. All in all doing much better than expected on night ....so happy to be done with it!!![/quote']

Good! Feel better soon...

Hi soccermomma73 Glad to hear your on the other side of all of this now (losing side). I hope you get your JP out on discharge as I did.

I had my surgery on the 6th and same a you lots of adhesions due to the band they had to do alot of separation. Luckily no hernia or gallbladder removal.

Watch for your first bowel movement let me know if you dumped alot of old dark blood....I came home friday and my first time i released a full toilet of old blood scared the &*^*^*^*^* out of me my hubby called my surgeon as nobody said a word on discharge that this could happen! I am still dumping out some but less and less everyday.

can t seem to get 64 oz of Water in with all small sips and cant drink until 45 minutes after eat....protein drinks in between meals at least counts too. keep us posted

Wow...

Well after 2 kidney stone surgeries' date=' and a sinus infection, I finally get my date. February 25th. I'm scared to death now. I was fine until now. How am I gonna do this liquid diet for 2 weeks and get the Protein in that I need? How will this affect my sugar? I take 2 shots a day. I just got out of the hospital and now I will be back in there again. I guess god will seer thru this some how.[/quote']

Yes He will! I have been on Boost glucose control which can also be used for diabetics. Just stay hydrated w h20, propel, and sf Jello.... U can do this remember u are to use this diet to also retrain ur how u eat and prepare u for ur first post op phase. Breathe! I have been on it for over a month....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
