I don't know why but Biggest Loser depresses me usually. Maybe I would feel differently now after surgery. But I used to watch it when it first started then found myself so depressed with myself I didn't start the last several seasons. My sisters watch it faithfully. I don't think I could handle being yelled at like that. But I am a wimp. And interesting about Jillian, my expression is about the same as Raquel's, But really happy for her, I really wish her and her family the best.

I think it all depends in how I am feeling at the time when it is one. Sometimes I can watch one season and be ok but then they air another right after and then I'm not interested. My sister says that it's not a good program to watch because you tend to eat badly while your watching and she is right. I am usually eating during the program and that's not good.

I love the biggest loser and finally understand why they are so emotional!

I used to say at the beginning of every season, that I would diet and exercise too. Well that didn't happen. LOL. I ate crap on the couch watching the show.

You know in the beginning when the BL started just how much unprepared everyone was but that was expected because not everyone knew what to expect. Now it surprises me that when people get to the ranch they just want to give up. Haven't they seen the show and know that the first week is worse than hell. I don't know...I go back and forth watching it. I might watch it this time because of the kids.

The Biggest Loser and Extreme Makeover Weightloss Edition were shows that actually help me make my decision to have surgery!!! They are very motivating and I applaud them for having kids on the show this year. I however determined I needed the tool of RNY to achieve my goal as my life is hectic, stressfull and exhausting. I simply do not have the time to exercise all day long, cannot afford a personal trainer or a cook. I admire all those who can make the changes on their own. I simply could not.

Yesterday we had visitors and we offered Snacks. They knew I could not eat and so there was no pressure. It was kind of relaxing to not have the pressure to "be polite" and join them!!

No will power was needed!!! I think I am going to love this!!

I have seen multiple people on fb state that they were eating junk food while watching the biggest loser, lol. When it first came out, I would watch it regularly, but I got out of the habit over the last few seasons. I feel like the show became more about the competition and money than the motivating lifestyle change. I'm hoping the addition of the kids will renew the excitement about the show. I'm going to start watching again. I feel like it will motivate me now that I'm on the healthy living track again. I'm glad that it's on tonight! I thought I had missed it!

I like this show, but feel like its kinda unrealistic for most people. They work out upwards of 6 hours a day. Most people don't have that kind of time.

Doesn't surprise me that people do that....I am one of them. Last nights episode was just not good. You would think that after these contestaints watching previous seasons would know that the first workout would be like that. I just hope tonights episode is a little less whining and more about winning :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
